I really like reading books written by Agatha Christie. Almost 2 mystery books over 3, I read are written by her. I like this author because:1- She is shy and introverted, just like me. 2- She uses a clean language. 3- There is no violence in her books. 4- She likes teasing her readers, making them to suspect some character and then proving that they were wrong. 5- My mind is generally engaged when I am reading her books. 6- I like her slightly humorous writing style.

Yes, Agatha Christie! I started reading her books a long time ago, when I was a child, because I could read well, and Mom had them! Of COURSE I read them. Like you said, they're clean. An odd affair now and then. They started me on mysteries in general. I can't think of any of her works I haven't read. And the red herrings in her works are marvelous. I was always surprised.

To be honest I cannot get into her books, oh don't get me wrong I love reading crime and mystery as well as detective stories but her books I just don't enjoy. Do you watch the stories when they come on tv? The two books I have read completely are Sparkling Cyanide and the other one I think was Ten To Dinner or And then there was nine, I know it's not the original title as they had to change it because it was deemed rascist.

I much more enjoy reading her books than watching the movies when they are showed on TV. I think the original title to 10 to Dinner is 10 little ni--ers. I read the book in French and the translation kept the original title (up to today).

I've been a fan of Agatha Christie since my teens (over 20 years ago). I have more than 40 of her books and am aiming to get ALL of them. Some of them I've read over and over and no other author holds my interest like she does. I've watched so many different versions of the books that have been made into TV films and really enjoy the Poirot series on TV too. I absolutely agree with about the clean language in her books, lack of violence and her quirky humour too. I am making a point of not buying the last book she wrote until I've read ALL of the others as I understand she wraps things up in Curtain which was written 4 decades before it was published in 1975. How many of her books would you say you've read in total?

I started reading her books in 1994. I must have read 20 to 25 of them now. I am also looking to buy all of her books, though I still have some way to go. I lost many books after moving from one city to another. Also, sometimes, I barrow the books from the library instead of buying them. What was the title of her last book? The last riddle of Ms Marple? or something similar? I also read her autobiography. I found it entertaining and enlightening at the same time as Agatha described very accurately life in Victorian England. It is funny to see Agatha put some of her daily life events and/or personality in her books. I always had the feeling that Agatha was talking about herself whenever she described Ms Marple.

As far as I'm aware, Curtain was her last Poirot book, only one further one was released after this one and I think that was a Miss Marple story. She wrote Curtain many years before it was published and kept it locked away until it was time to end his mystery solving days. I don't want to read it until I've read ALL the other ones. I have about 6 books of hers which I've bought from Amazon but haven't read yet. The internet is being mean to me, it's keeping me away from reading books LOL!

Thanks about the info. I also have like 4 or 5 books of hers on the shelf now. I agree that the internet is so distracting and addictive. I borrowed her last Miss Marple book, but i had to return it to the library as I had many books already in my to-read queue.

even i love agatha christie books. her plots are very intriguing, and keep the interest at peak. u r right that her books have no violence, all age groups can read her books. interest is kept focused. sometimes she gets very boring. especially when there is only interrogation and no story.
