I love looking on Google Earth and picking out different areas where I have lived, unfortunately where I live at the moment is all blurry because of the Army bases nearby! Although today I looked at the town where I was originally came from and remembered there was a huge wall around this one particular area (There was a mining disaster there in the early part of last century) and always wondered what was behind this wall! Well today I had a look and all there seems to be there is trees but at least is solved my 25 year old curiosity! What interesting things have your found?

Oh yes and I love it! I have plotted out the places i've been...which haven't been very many but it's great to find out where online friends live and where their houses are on their street. My house is not yet shown. I'm in Newfoundland, my street is there but no houses. Wonder when they'll update more of Newfoundland?

The one they have of my street is about 4 or 5 years old, and hasn't been updated since I first looked at it.

Thanks for your information, I wonder whether they update some places rather than others? Strange isn't it, I'm going to go and have a look now to see if I can find some new estates that have popped up!

Is your house fairly new? I thought they updated it pretty regularly I may be wrong! It's good fun though isn't it?

I use it, I like to show the kids were we and some of our family live. The most interesting thing I have found is a set or resorts in Suadi Arabia. They are shaped like palm trees and they are right on the coast. They are so big you can see them realy well on the satelite pics. I love just looking aound and finding diferent places, good fun for someone who cant aford to travel.

Palm Island - A picture of Palm Island in Dubai. A man made feature. It's absolutely amazing
Yes it is a great tool for those who can't afford to travel and a great one to teach the kids some geography too! Is it Dubai's Palm Island you've been looking at? I saw a documentary on it some time ago and it followed the building of it - so fascinating!!

Probably a plane over the Pacific that looked like it had the emergancy chute deployed, well it must have been a techincal glitch as thay could not of happen, as there was no emergancy water landing at that time of the year on the Pacific.

There are photos of a huge 18 sq. mile prison in North Korea that they publically deny exists but they cannot hide from the satellites! They see all, the military has ones even more sophisticated, a teacher I had in Middle school, her brother worked in the pentagon, and called her up on the phone one day and told her to walk outside to her backyard. He then proceeded to perfectly describe her outfit to her. He could see her with a satellite. Go technology!

I've heard they can do this! I read somewhere that they did a test by sending some people to a field and they had to hold a book or a picture of some kind and they could tell what they had in their hand! Great technology but scary to think you could be being watched wherever you are!!

Well I remember seeing the remains of the 9/11 disaster in NYC. They still show an empty hole there. I can also see the base my husband is stationed at in Iraq as clear as day, to the point that I can see where mortars hit on the runways.
