Why? I have a friend who used to like them and one day after alot of chocolates, she got tired of them. It's been 2 years since she's had chocolate and she doesn't want any at all.

I am not allergic (thankfully) but growing up my best friend developed an allergy. She couldn't have chocolate or cola products. Maybe a caffeine allergy?

My boyfriend doesn't eat chocolate...any chocolate. It's just something he won't touch. At least that means there's more for me. :)

Thankfully I'm not allergic. I don't eat it or any candy very often...more like a rare treat. Dark chocolate's the best and best for you because of the antioxidants.

I've been allergic to chocolate for 36 years. Chocolate was one of the hardest things to avoid because of allergy!! (If you've ever really looked at the candy section in a store, there's very little good stuff that doesn't have chocolate in it.) Even cocoa butter used in lots of hand creams, sun tan creams, etc, is a derivitive of the same plant that they make cocoa/chocolate from, so I can't use those either without symptoms. I've learned to make my own sweets using carob instead. Carob tastes very much like chocolate and is purchased in a healthfood store; I adapt my recipes to use the carob. Nobody who has eaten my homemade treats ever guesses that it's NOT chocolate, so I usually don't mention it unless I'm asked.
