Well I do not bid myself but love watching the bids at times the costs come down a lot, but shipment charges after being added make the prize of the article same as it is supposed to cost.

Oh yes, you are definetely an addict. lol E-bay did that to me as well, when I really wanted the thing I saw, and I was out bid, I kept on bidding until I won. I just couldn't stand it. I had to have it. These days, like you said, I set myself to the price where I think it's reasonable. When the bid goes beyond my budget, I just (sadly) have to let it go.

I love e-bay too. I get a number of my Christmas presents from there, and a whole heap of personal things that I require. I don't bid more than I want to though because I learned the lesson that the same item always comes up at least a second time, and at a lower price. I do tend to wait until the auction only has about twenty seconds left and then slam on my final bid though, so that there's not too much time for the other bidders to see and counteract it. lol. Cheating? Nooooooooo... it's fun, and quite within the guidelines. The other way, of course, is to put in a maximum bid, so that it automatically and instantly counters any lower bids that come in. I do find it a bit offputting when posting in here, though, as the banner above keeps showing my favourite things for auction on e-bay and I have to cut short and go have a look. ha ha ha I guess that's addiction. Brightest Blessings.

When I started on eBay I,too, was a total addict. I spent a lot of money on auctions for a while, until I realised that I was beginning to fill my house with stuff I really didn't need. I then decided that having been a buyer on eBay, I would be a seller. I used my account to sell a lot of my stuff, including a load of things I had in the house that I had no use for anymore. I prefer being a seller these days although I do still bid for and occasionally win auctions on eBay
