Run Utilites from cd

where can i find instructions on how to get past the a:\ prompt when I boot from the cd to run the diagnostic utilities

I guess all bootable diskettes or cd's will start in A:\ So as long as you can explore the contents of the cd, I guess there's no problem.

I cannot imagine why you are booting into the A: prompt, but it is easy enough to change it. Simply type D: and press eneter, which should take you to the CD drive. If for any reason this does not work, then use a floppy boot disk which will start with the A: prompt and type E: to access the CD. When the CD is accessed type dir to view the files and directories on the CD.
