Is declawing a good option for a cat that scratches furniture and how is it done?

I don't think you need to declaw your cat. When he scratch on the furniture spank him lightly whenever he does that so he knows it is not allowed.

It can work but for me, i dont want that to do to my cat. I love him and I can manage where I want him to stay.

I hate it, its inhumane and unnatural, why not just clip the nails and teach the cat not to go near the furniture

You already asked about declawing but anyways I think this is said to be a way better alternative http://www.furlongspetsupply.com/soft_claws.htm
