I'm just wondering what everyone's opinion on the most inportant thing in relationship was. I thought that having a discussion about it might help a lot of people including me with relationship problems. I have trouble figuring out what is most inportant in a relationship. Is it honesty, Passion, Romance?? Of course there has to be honesty no matter what but what do you like most in a relationship?

I feel there are three major things-communication,fidelity, and trust If any of those are broken- then its hard to have a good and lasting relationship..You have to have someone who can communicate and listen, and wont cheat and someone you can totally trust. very good topic!

Very true.I don't think I could ever forgive someone for lieing or cheating on me and without communication you really don't even have a relationship. You really need to be able to tell each other anything. Great opinion.

Happiness for me is another important thing in a relationship. Even if there's still love between two people, if they are not happy anymore together then the relationship would just crumble. Trust too is majorly important.

I have always felt that communication is the most important part of any relationship as it will lead to honesty, trust and faith. A lack of communication can result in misunderstandings or a break in honesty. If you are able to talk to your partner openly and honestly, then the two of you should be able to work out (almost) anything that comes up.

I guess I would agree with you. This was the first word I had in mind and i found the answer in your response. I guess our poster failed to mention it that is why i would choose your answer to be the best. :D

Ah interesting question. Well there are a lot of factors that are important in a relationship. Of course number one should be love, you can't be with a person whom you don't love or have feelings to because it's like fooling yourself and your partner. A relationship cannot survive without love. Next would be trust. You must trust your partner with all your heart and accept him/her for what he/she is. If you trust that person then you won't have much problems about jealousy and other stuffs. If you trust your partner you can talk or tell him/her your deepest thoughts and feelings without hesitation. Trust will solidify your bond as a couple.

The number one most important thing in a relationship is communication. I have gone to a lot of responses and discussions and do you know that I don't see that as put down as a important thing. There is a lot of valid things put down but not that. Without communication there can be huge misunderstandings. You imagine things that aren't really there. Like is he seeing someone else. If you have the line of communication is open that is a question you won't ever have to ask.
