Historicity of Jesus

Accordingly, The Old Testament contains at least 334 prophecies of Jesus, all dated at least 400 years before He was born. There are also 27 1st century historical documents that claim that Jesus fulfilled all of these prophecies. There are also the secular writings of Pilate's letters, Josephus, Pliny the Younger, Tacitus, Lucian of Samosta, Seutonious, Tertullian, Thallus, Bar Serapian, Phlegon, the Jewish Talmuds, etc. All of these accounts were written before Constantine in the fourth century. In fact, our year started on the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ - year now is supposed to be year of the Lord 2007 which shows that the Christ was born 2,007 years ago. This was known as A.D. or Anno Domini or year of the Lord. However, allegedly, there was a mistake committed in the computation of the number of years and so A.D. is now known as C.E. or Common Era. I believe that this is another ploy to erase the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. What do you think?

The Lord Jesus Christ is referred-to as the Man of History. No other man who lived on earth is being spoken of throughout generations and yes, the years before are tagged as A.D. I didn't know that it is now C.E. or Common Era which somehow erased the popularity of our Lord Jesus. But even then, I believe that people who do not believe in God will succeed in any ploy or any trick to disregard God and His Son the Savior of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ.

I don't believe that people who do not believe in God can do a lot to erase the name of Jesus. The Lord Jesus has been talked about for more than 2,000 years now, even if A.D. or C.E. Is there any other personality more popular than the Lord? Even if those who do not believe talk about Him. In the world, there are more people who do not believe, but while they do not believe, they keep on talking about Him, attacking Him, disregarding Him, dishonoring Him, and the more they do such, the more the Lord becomes popular. They can never erase the name of the Lord Jesus.

Yes, I have long thought that! Oh yes, this world is going to go the way it's going to go. There's no stoppin' it now... maybe slow it down is all we can hope.. P.S. I printed your post. That was a good list of secular accounts, and I hadn't heard that complete of a list before.. What so few people realize is the four gospels are four testimonies and eye witness accounts, two written by apostles of Jesus, and two friends and fellow christians who interviewed Peter, or maybe Mary(?) in once instance.. I love how the gospels agree on the message so exactly, but differ some when it comes to small details, as all eye witness accounts do, as over time memories differ, and indeed we are mighty suspicious when they don't..

I hope that these information could clarify some doubts of those who doubt. Yes, by changing the A.D. to C.E., people who do not believe in God have done quite something to erase the name of the Lord on some record but they will never succeed in whatever ploy they do to blot out God who created them.
