Hi friends, I noticed that when you accept a friendship request on myLot, the "notify when this friend starts a new discussion" flag is off. It would be a good idea to set it on, so every user is notified by an email when a friends opens a new discussion. Bye

If it was a notification my mylot message or alert it was good. But email notification will make things worse. Filling the inbox with mylot messages.

I use a gmail account and it is very comfortable with this kind of notifications.

Something that might be considered unique was instead of just going merely to www.mylot.com & getting that default list of discussions, I saved http://www.mylot.com/nr/friendsdiscussions.aspx in my favorites. That takes me directly to the "discussions my friends started" page.

If you put that key on, by evening you will have 300 emails from mylot, saying those guys have posted 300 discussion topics. By the time you answer, a day would have passed. Heaven sake do not keep it open, unless you have only 5 or 10 friends. I have more than 75 friends.

As you get more friends, you might get a lot more mail than you want. If you find that some friends start a lot of discussions that you're not that interested in, you can always turn off the notification. That's what I do; for some friends I have notify on; for most I have it turned off.

Not everybody wants to be notified about every new friend conversation. I don't, and I'm glad to have the choice. In fact, if it was on and I couldn't turn it off, I would probably leave mylot. If notification works for you, that's fine, it's not that difficult to turn it on if you want it.

Yes, I always switch the notification button on, as I like to receive emails whenever my friends start a new discussion. If I didn't do this I might not get time to go through the list to see who has started a discussion. It also saves time to receive a notification my email.
