Why do we always say yes????

Does anyone else ever find themselves always saying yes to a favor when approached?? I know I do, even when I know I already have a full plate. Why do we over extend ourselves and feel obligated to say yes? And doesn't this just result in more stress?

The decision is yours to choose whether you will accept a favor or not. I certainly fall on the same line as with you. We like to help as many people as we can because we have a compassionate heart. But we are not obligated to do things for everyone. If you think you can help them for as long as it is within your capabilities, then go ahead.

For myself, I have a hard time saying no , so I always end up saying yes. I think it is because I am afraid to disapoint other people. And yes - it does result in more stress :/

That is the reason someone has written a book called"How to say no". We all are social animals and somewhere in our conscious it is written that we should help others, that is why we keep on saying yes even if we have lots of work to do.

cause it is very easy, very acceptable and you don't have to explain much if you go with their intentions
