Beach

Interestingly enough, the beach makes me realize the importance of "The Power of Place." I was born in Denmark, and lived by the coast. As a young person, I always felt "whole" after walking on the beach. Then I spent 25+ years living inland, about 250 miles (400km) from the sea shore, and it was as if something was missing. Although so-called experts say that we create our happiness in ANY place we live, I have not found that to be entirely true. A few months ago, I moved to a town by the ocean-- I now live a 5-minute walk from the beach. And some part of me feels better, again. I go there for the feeling of calm and peace that comes to me. I cannot explain exactly "what" it is that happens, but I feel much better being back near the water.

I don't feel quite the same as you, but I love spending time at the shore. Besides 'beachconbing' for anything washed up by the tide, I like to find natural baits and do some fishing. Alas, I don't have much time to enjoy it these days!

Yes, i do. The beach is an incredible place i always go to when i can in the summer. That is why living far away from the coast would be so hard for me..I would miss the smell of the salty water, and the fine touch of the sand, and of course the endless hours one spends there with friends having fun.

Hi, apsara60. I love your avatar! It is so vivid natural to look at! Yes, I love to go to the beach. But, I only enjoy walking around and shopping. I also love to get on the rides and eat the exotic foods that they have. I go there for recreation and enjoyment.

I love to view the sea. It has lots of wonders and mystery but it has one great truth to tell as well. The truth that its Master Creator is indeed great! I do love the sea as well. I am not an expert swimmer so I enjoyed viewing the sea and all that surrounds it more that swimming. I love the combination of two wonderful creations of God, the awesome heavens and the magnificent sea. I can't get tired watching the beauty of nature!

Hi Aps dear....I love the see and to sit for hours together on the beach watching the waves playing hide and seek....Ever since I was a kid,the sea has always charmed me,and has cast a bewitching spell on me.I have always been intrigued by the sea and the moments I spent on the beach has always been very special to me.... Sitting on the beach,watching the waves splashing around,I have always wondered what magical wonders the sea has..... And look its strange how this three year old discussion of yours has remained hidden for so long and has resurfaced today to appear on top of the discussions you have started!!!You have not been around much lately nor started a new discussion for almost a week and lo..this discussion has surfaced from deep down.....And since I was not around 3 years back when you started this discussion,I am glad this has resurfaced in your absence.....

I love the beach especially during sunny days and the water in its most beautiful shade of blue. Makes me feel so peaceful and think of it as heaven on earth.
