No stories to share (other than when pushy telephone sales people call, I ask if they can hold and then place the receiver in a drawer till they go away), but this sales person was clearly "over the top." I write. It's what I've been doing, since I was about six years old. It's a pretty set habit by now. I write everything from blogs to serious articles. I am originally from Denmark, where I lived (more or less) till I was 20. I now live in a small coastal town in the Pacific Northwest. Although I'd like to truthfully say that I write for a living, much of my "writing" seems to be in the form of descriptions for the stuff I sell on eBay, or copyedited content someone else will put on their web sites. Yes, I do also write articles, and sometimes I get paid for them. For me, making a living as a self-employed person is about developing a system of "patchwork economics." Many people get fearful and "stuck" because they believe you have to earn a living from a single "job." However, that's rarely how web-based business works-- unless you happen to invent some blockbuster product you can sell by the 1000's. Making money online is a matter of a few dollars here, a few dollars there. In the end, it all adds up.
