Did lagaan deserve an oscar?

I don't think the film is for that much.. Lagaan is a wonderful bollywood shows the hollywood quality..A small review about the film...Aamir khan's mind blowing performance,Ashuthosh gowariker's master piece direction,Cinematography that reach at a level of hollywood film,Extra ordinary music experience by the asian mozart ar rahman... The movie is not deserve an oscar but still it is good for us .The cricket coming in story line make the film more popular among the viewers....

I think it did deserve an Oscar for being what I think to be one of the best movies ever by an Indian. The story was well researched and the execution and the performances were brilliant. But, I did not expect it to win the Oscar as Oscars seem to bias itself to pain, struggle and pessimism and Lagaan was quite the opposite on all these three parameters. So yes it did deserve the oscar and no I did not expect it to get the oscar. Cheers! Ram

it should have been . i also eagerly waited for this film to select , but obviously not . it deserves for oscar award.
