How Long?...How Long Do You Wait, Before You Decide the "Best Response"?

I have a few discussions that I have started and, I have picked a "Best Response" in only one. I have noticed that many of the articles that I have responded to, even though they have not had a response added in the last 3 days, have no "Best Response" chosen. Should we always pick a "Best Response" and, what is the rule of thumb on the time frame?

For me it all depends on the response, I usually like to wait until I've had about half a dozen responses before I choose, but if there's an exceptional good response that has been well thought out, informative and very interesting and pertinent to the discussion then it will get a best response straight away. Use your sound judgement and if your question has been answered thoughtfully then it deserves the best response.

I do not like using it. I do but i feel like letting all the others down. The best would be to just hit the + button and then be done. I prefer waiting until i got a reasonable number replies. If not i wait it out a day or two to see if anyone else has anything to say.
