Do you buy no-name products in order to save money? I often do, things like paper products, staple foods like rice, flour, soap etc. Sometimes I find that the no-name products are just as good if not better than the brand name counterparts. In some cases though like my favourite coffee I always go with the name brand.

I have certain items that I don't mind generic or store brand products. I won't buy generic toilet paper, generic feminine hygiene products and most bath products (shampoos). I always buy generic or store brand of minute rice, raw rice, breads, rolls, and some store brands of salad dressings. It just all depends on what it is but I do often find that they are just as good or good enough to warrant the much lower cost of using them.

I agree with the shampoo part as well. I find the no-name brands are usually quite watery. Other stuff though is just as good as it's name brand version I think. And I love to save money when and where I can. Cheers!

Yes I do in many things. OF course there is always this or that where I do prefer the name brand, but as you stated , things like paper products, soap, flour etc I tend to use th e no-name products, they work just as well.

Yeah I go for the NO name brand and sometimes on the brand names. Most of the time though I have to choose the no name brand because they are cheaper. I can't afford to spend lots of money. I am a student and I don't have that much money. Guess when I graduate in college and work maybe that's the time for me to be picky. I will just think no name brand is anyway the same.

You betcha! With many of the generic or store-name variety I can see nor taste a difference. A sandwich bag is a sandwich bag to me, I don't think it matters if it is namebrand! I have a friend who works in a large factory (I am sworn to secrecy) and she described how the product is made, and then when it goes through 'packaging' different labels are placed on the product! Yes, same product, different labels!! So many times folks are paying 'a little more' because they feel that by doing so that they are getting a better product when in actuality it is the same product as the generic/storebrand! I have proof!!

I do buy a lot of name brand products but have a few store brand items that I buy, I've tried alot of store brand and generics over the years, but it seemd to me that some items there was just to big of a difference in quality. Shampoo is definetly a name brand product for me. Staple foods though and a lot of can goods I usually can't tell a difference. I'm very picky about my salad dressing and my ketchup. :)

Yep, Ketchup is another one that you can't really skimp on for sure! Thank you.

Yes, I buy no-name products often too. Generally, I give the product a try, if the quality is acceptable, then the product will very likely become a regular item on my shopping list. Also, some well-known companies sometimes sell their products as no-name just to be able to get rid of their stock. Though, these companies will never admit this business practice in public as it might hurt their reputation.
