It's Official, I Have Changed My Mind!

Thank you to all of my friends and to the friends that I have not yet made my friends!
Several weeks ago someone posted a discussion asking why we were members of the MyLot community. My first response was yes, the people that I meet are really nice; BUT, I'm here for the $MONEY$. That is what I answered.
I honestly thought that everyone here was here for the $$$ and that the people writing to say, "Oh, it's for the friendships," were basically full of doo-doo!
I have changed my mind and officially recant my previous statement!
Last night I posted an all-out distress call for help with my computer. It wasn't titled with one of my enticing "gotcha" titles, it was very simply stated. I have been very busy today and have not had much time to be on MyLot; but I have been here long enough to see that I have not 1 or 2, but 3 pages of responses!
I quickly skimmed through them because I've not much time to spend on the computer and saw so many faces I've not seen before and hope to see much more often. Thank you to everyone for answering my call for help. I am first and foremost here for the friends that I have made and the ones that I am going to make. Money is a secondary thing and just a perk for talking with my friends.

I'm so sorry that one of those faces wasn't mine.
I didn't get online at all last night. Went to bed around noon yesterday, got up for supper and went back to bed until 6 this morning. Spent the day filing paperwork and doing my taxes. I hope you got your problem fixed, Donna.~Shannon

I must have missed it somehow.
I'm glad to see you've come around though! I too originally started doing this for the money, but by my 5th post or so I spotted the first person that I really wanted to be friends with here. Soon after that, I found another, and another, until before I knew it I had a lot of people I looked forward to talking to when coming on mylot each day. Amazing how these things work!

Oh I think that we are here for the money but it is not just about money as I hav met some wonderful friends since I joined mylot that is great that you are receiving so many responses. Quite a lot of the time I receive this amount as well which is great, yes I would also like to thank mylot for giving us this opportunity to meet more wonderful friends.

I joined myLot in January, because it was included in a list of on-line business opportunities that I purchased for $5. Other than myLot there was one other one that caught my attention. I joined it as well, and as I was working both programs, I realized that while myLot was more interesting, it took a lot more work than the other one, but the other program was earning me way more.
So, I stopped visiting myLot and devoted my time to the other program, where it turned out I was able to earn about 10 times as much as myLot. But, within the past couple of days, I realized that I missed the discussion, and the camaraderie, so I decided instead to compromise and do both programs at the same time. Very easy with 2 windows and a fast computer. Hey, I'm old but I'm still learning.
Anyway, to make a long story even longer, as I was catching up on my friends discussions, I came across a couple of your responses and was very entertained by your comments. So, I asked you to join my friendship list, and was delighted to see that you accepted. So, I thought I had better check to see what you had posted, and it tied in perfectly with how I was feeling about my change in strategy.

I first came here for the money...even though it is not tons of money, it's still something for just sitting and having some fun and meeting people. But, I am one of the people--like you--who are now here for the friendships. I have only been here for about 3 weeks, but I have met so many nice people and learned some great things and made some money, too. :)

I enjoy this site as well because of the friends that I have made and communicate with regularly. The money is not the most important thing to me here. I have met some really nice people here and enjoy the conversations, whether private messages or through discussions. This has been a great experience for me. I too thank myLot for this forum and the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. I hope that you have a nice holiday weekend.

I have found htisa very friendly and responsive group and when I've asked for help, I always receive it. The money is a side benefit. I wish I had more time like I did a couple of months back because I really enjoy the posts here and the invaluable feedback.

Oh Donna, the same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Before that, I had met a few nice people, but only one or two who I would have called friends. Then I had some down times and I posted topics and had tons of people come out of the woodwork to cheer me up, with so many encouraging and helpful and kind words. After that, I felt so much closer to the community as a whole here, and more like I belong here, even though I still can't get my star rating back up past eight, lol! But I know that I wouldn't want to leave Mylot now even if it didn't pay. I would be leaving too many friendships behind. I would at least have to stay in touch with those people via email, or something! ^_^

Donna, LOL So you have changed your mind! Did you get your computer fixed? So you think us whow have developed friendships on mylot is full of "doo - doo" LOL that is funny. Glad you are enjoying mylot and the people here.

It's good to find friends when you aren't necessarily looking for them, huh? I somehow didn't catch your other discussion yesterday even though you are on my friends' list. I saw it for the first time at the same time I saw this one. I must have mostly just looked at discussions I had already responded to yesterday.
It didn't take me long at all to realize that if I was posting to mylot for the money, I would give up. There are many other ways I could be spending my time online if it was about the money. Yet, I still spend more time on this site than any other. I like helping people and talking to people from all walks of life. That's one thing I miss most now that I stay home with my son during the week. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to be home with him while he's a baby, just I sometimes miss having adult conversations with people besides my husband. Mylot allows me to do that.

Well it's nice you have changed your mind! The money is nice I will admit but it doesn't pay very much and if you're here for the money your time is better spent doing something else to earn money! I love this sight, the people, the discussions even the silly postings entertain me! Yes we all came for the money but we have stayed because it's a nice place to be!

i am here for the money at first as well... but as i stay here longer, i change my mind too and find that the friendship, fun and knowledge that i get from being here is much more worthy than the money... so, for me, i treat the money as the bonus now...

I saw your post, but did not respond, as it is not my area of expertise. I think a lot of the long term users come to the same conclusion that you do. I came here because of money, but that is not why I am here. I love the exchange of ideas, and will continue for quite awhile, I am sure.

i think i remember that topic.
i'm sure what i said was already said over and over again since i'm sure a lot of people knew the answer to it.
anywayz, a lot of people here like to help others i always say i came to this site for 2 reasons, the money and the topics. i like debating and of course giving advice when i can, its like a win win situation for me. the thing about here is that i have to post a lot more because i like the money since i have no job and a sahm i don't make much income but being here on the computer and watching my children. but yeah, you'll find some pretty good people to engage in conversation with. i know i like a few people here on my friends list, and of course some i don't. but its a web forum...what would you expect. i'm glad that you're going to be here for the discussions and friendships...but there's nothing wrong with the money =)$$

It's ridiculous isn't it but amazing too. There are so many people I see here time after time and I get so sidetracked from making money because I really am interested to read what they think. I'm amazed that one can get to know another so easily this way. I hope to make many more friends as I go along. Some of the people I've met on here are truly the nicest and some are the most interesting. It's a marvellous bonus.

I'm pretty sure everyone here is here for a few easy bucks! At least from the start. That is why I joined, at first, and these discussions are actually pretty interesting!
