I love fishing even when I catch nothing.I find it relaxing. But its even better when you catch a fish you can be proud of.I went to Thunder Bay Ontario one year to a secluded lake and caught a 5 pound northern pike in 2ft of water. The funny thing is...after reeling it in and throwing it up on shore without touching it(girls!!!)the hook had fallen out on (his) way threw the air.I managed to toss a bucket on him untill help arrived. What about you..any good fishing stories?

I caught a 2 inch fish once. OK, stop laughing. It's the only fish I've ever caught, don't even know what kind it was. And I had to throw it back. My brother in law refers to my fishing skills as "drowning worms." But I still love to go, just sit, relax, snooze. Nothing beats fishing for real relaxation.

Mine would have to be a dogfish out of the Kankakee River up in Yellow Banks for ppl that may be from the Momence, IL area. It was, I believe, about 5 yrs ago when we had a major drought and the river was drying up. Caught it in 2' of water. I didn't measure it but going by my arm(I know it was that long) I'd say it was roughly 2 1/2' long and HEAVY. lol Put it on a stringer tied to a concrete block in the river to come back the next day to take a pic of it and dang turtle dragged it out further and ate it on me. I was proud of my catch that day in the boat. :-)

I was fishing with my father and his friend on mille lacs lake, Mn during the super hot night bite a couple summers ago. We were drifting along a giant rock pile fishing in about 17' of water. We had stopped at the bait shop and picked up some lighted bobbers. I got my rod all ready to go and put it in the water. Within 10 seconds the bobber was under the water, I set the hook but nothing was there. I reeled up so we could check the bobber and see if it was leaking or something. Nothing was wrong witht the bobber so my dad put it back in the water, and again it went under real fast. He set the hook and nothing was there so he reeled it up again and told me he was gonna put a different one on but I told him it was alright. I would just fish with it. So I dropped it down again and after 15 seconds the bobber went down again. I set the hook, and reeled in a 4.5Lbs walleye. It was the biggest fish I have caught so far and was the biggest that night.
