Why are people scared of spiders?

Personally I am not scared of spiders or cockroaches. But I am really scared of worms. I can hold a snake and put it around my neck but never will I dare to touch a single worm. So what makes a spider scary?

What makes a spider so scary to me is the thought of them crawling on me and biting me. I've had spider bites before and they hurt. Also, to me, they are very scary looking...expecially the big ones. A worm on the other hand, I can pick up with no problem. LOL strange how different people are afraid of different things. :)

Cockroach - One of my bigger fear
I can look at worms even if I don't like them, I can touch a spider if it is necessary but when I see a cockroach……….you can hear my scream wherever you are. I haven’t any bad experience with then but I afraid them so much.

I think its because spiders look so creepy! all those little eyes, and some of them are hairy. all those legs, they spin webs, haven't you ever seen the movie aracnaphobia?! THOSE LITTLE SPIDERS would eat people! i've been scared of spiders since i watched that movie. But i never kill them myself. I always pick them up with toilet paper and flush them in the tiolet i let the water kill them! lol.
