Just as some people wouldn't even look @ a yellow lighter. Can you folks really be scared of black little puttys!

Hmph. I have had a pure black cat before. We actually owned 4 at one point. Anyways. All our black cats have been so sweet and loving. I don't see why folks are scared of them. I love my black kitties. :]

I have not one but two black puttys. I got each one when it was a tiny baby, so they're my children. I love them a lot. I'm not ignorant, so I've never thought black cats were bad luck (nor do I believe in the concept of bad luck. You make your own luck.) And just when you think humans can't get any dumber: People won't look at a yellow lighter!? WTF? Beam me up, Scotty. There's no intelligent life on this planet. :P

Yes I am scared of black cats with shining eyes but till now never found them unlucky. Basically I don't believe in these things but I believe that if you start some work with scared of unhappy feelings then that effect your performance.

I actually prefer black cats, I've never had one but I find them very beautiful and they have an air of mystery to them. I myself would love to get my hands on one, I've had a totally white cat once, and though I have nothing to complain about as she was a good cat I'd like to be able to get a pitch black one this time. I think the color makes their eyes stand out more making it seem like they glow more.

I don't think that cats are bad luck because they are black. In fact, in history, pagan or wiccan followers often kept black cats because they were thought to be good luck. Because of the bad rap Earth based religeons had and because of they way witches were veiwed at that time, it led to the beilef that a black cat was really a witch who had shapeshifted. Pretty silly now but back then we didn't know as much and the church was the be all end all of everything.

I am not scared of black cats. We had a black stray that had 4 black kittens last summer and they were the sweetest bunch of cats that we've ever had. I love cats!

shadow2 - My kitten Shadow up in my chair at the dinner table being naughty!
My fiancee gave me a black kitten for my birthday in October. Her name is shadow, she is so adorable and she seems to be more good luck to my household than bad. And she provides endless hours of entertainment to me and my fiancee.

no I don't think black cats are bad luck. I have two black cats, Junior and his mother sheeba. I also have a white cat and a grey one. This was just a crazy superstition started in Europe in the middle ages and I don't know why people still believe it now.

I dont. I have consciously seen black cats crossing my path and have wondered if I would have bad luck. I never had any bad luck with them, so I am not a believer.

I believe there is no such thing as a bad luck cat, no matter what colour it is..I also have the sweetest black cat named smoky for about 5 years now. He's the youngest in the family and treats everyone like his friend :)

I've never heard of looking at a yellow lighter as bad luck. I definetly don't believe black cats are bad luck. One of the cats I had as a kid was a black kitty that we took in as a stray. He was the sweetest kitty ever. He'd follow us from our place to my grandparents place around the corner every day. Sweetest little kitty. Sadly his little lap dog nature is what killed him. I wouldn't think twice about owning another black cat either, or patting another persons black cat. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if I believe in any of the superstitious things - ie Friday the 13th, Umbrellas inside etc.

Phoenix's father was a very sweet black cat named Rocky. Pheeny's more dangerous than her father was! I see no reason to fear black cats.

No way! I had a black cat for 8 years and he was the most loving, loyal companion I could ask for. He brought me great luck! He passed away last May and while I have a new cat, no other cat can ever replace my Jazz.

I have the most beautiful black cat named Salem. She has been a source of joy for me from the day that I got her, I would never think that she or any other black cat could bring such a thing as bad luck. No to mention that I don't believe in luck. And what is this about a yellow lighter?

I don't think I've ever been long without a black cat. I went looking for a black cat as my first. I currently have 4 black cats & all the bad luck I've ever had came during the time when I DIDN'T have a black cat!!! I do know what you mean. I was at a pet adoption one day & people came in and looked at every single cat in the room, except the black one (who was the sweetest & the one adopted at the next adoption day!) I had never really believed that people did that until I saw it myself!
