Ooh hello!! I usually clean mu guinea pigs' cage 2 times in 3 weeks, sometimes more often, depending on how dirty it gets because mine is an outdoor cage. I have 5 guinea pigs, 2 of which were born totally unexpectedly. :)+

I generally clean my cages once to twice a week. I use kiln dried pine bedding, so it's absorbent, and the cages don't smell because they're larger than most (7.5 to 9 square feet, rarely do I make them larger, never smaller). Sometimes if they pee on the hay it smells, or in a specific spot, but whenever I have guinea pigs that go for one spot more than another, I put a litterbox there so that I can quickly take out that section and dump it daily or twice daily.

A cute piggie! - One of the cutest piggies on the world wide web!
Mine use cat litter pans so it's easy to dump them a couple times a week. There is one pig, Galahad, that will let me know when he wants it changed LOL. He won't hop into the pan and do his thing, he'll just sit there and squeek until I take notice. In the summer I do try to change it every two days, especially if I am pet sitting other peoples piggies.

i do it once every week. the frequency with which the enclosure is cleaned depends on its design, the materials out of which it is made, and the number of guinea pigs that resides within in. as a general rule of thumb, the enclosure and all "furniture" should be cleaned and disinfect once weekly. food and water container should be cleaned and disinfect once daily. more than one set of containers should be maintained, and the soiled set should be washed in a dishwasher, if possible. vigorous scrubbing of the enclosure and "furniture" with hot water and soap and a thorough rinse should be followed by use of a disinfectant. vinegar is often required to remove the scale deposited by the crystaline urine of guinea pigs.
