...hopefully the corruption would be proven and not just propaganda.. I do think aid should not be given to countries which oppress or kill the people under them, or which are run by radical types who say they are hoping to annihilate another country or people, or civilizations different from theirs.

....or exports terrorism or terrorists, or trains them.. as this doesn't support peaceful relations, or any society or civilization, but the world should unite to put pressure (and to ostrasize from all trade) such nations, so they can learn peaceful coexistence.. and how to compete in the world peacefully with tolerance and even respect..

all states are corrupt by their nature, therefore for Ireland to deny aid would be somewhat hypocritical, dont you think?

no i dont feel it would be hyporcrytical, but i do understand where your coming from. In my opinion from studying the topic denying aid to some of these corrupt countries would actually benefit them hugely, and its not just me saying this it is infact a belief of many inluding john oshea of goal ireland and the current chief of the world bank. Most of the countries that ireland actually gives aid to are of the most corrupt in the world, and the money that we give isnt going to helping set up educational, health systems and things that would benefit the actual people its straight into the governments pocket for them to squander, or hide away in off shore accounts!
