I like my asparagus boiled just a little. I do not like it over cooked. I like a little butter on it. Yum, yum.

I don't eat asparagus, for some reason it just don't agree with me. My husband though likes for me to fry asparagus in a little butter, enough to where it is soft, but doesn't lose it's crispness. I wish I could eat it, cause I do like how I make it for my husband, but it just doesn't want to stay down.

I don't understand it, I always thought when a person had an allergy to a food they had to stay clear of it, cause it would do all sorts of things to a person just being near it, but I can be around asparagus and am fine. Just can't eat it. The same goes for Stagg Chili, it tastes good, but nope can't eat that either.

Not a big fan of asparagus. In fact, not much of a vegetable eater in general. Corn is alright. I can handle a tomato. HATE onions and lettuce though.

I just had asparagus tonight. I like it steamed in the mocrowave the best. I have a microwave steamer bowl. It is so soft. I have also eaten it baked in the oven, it is crunchy when you do this. I no longer buy the canned even thought I think it is tasty. I buy the frozen which is easier to prepare.

I love asparagus...I grew up on a farm in Minnesota and we use to drive the country roads and pick it fresh. Mom would freeze it also so we could have some all winter long..We use to boil it, and then cream it and put it on toast with some salt and pepper...That was sooo good. But living in Las Vegas I have a hard time finding it fresh. I do buy it fast frozen from Schwans now and then and it is real close to being fresh. With some butter and salt on it it is great. I also like the white baby spears or shoots pickled..They are also sooooo goood...

That sounds very interesting. It reminded me of going to a cousin's house in the country and picking it fresh sometimes....I had sort of forgotten that. I have not tried the white pickled...I'm sure that is good. I have had the white cooked, though, and it is delicious. Thank you for contributing to this discussion.

In Germany, there was a place that had awesome asparagus soup. I hate asparagus too, but this soup was so good. If you are every in Germany, go to the Heisen Steine (Hot Rock).

On the rare occasions that I actually eat this vile concoction, it is smothered in lots of cheese. This is a food? that triggers my gag reflex much too easily. The only words I know of to describe this would be icky poo.

Although I love asparagus, I have never had it on pizza. It makes sense. I would think it would be very good. Thank you for replying to my discussion.

I like it steamed with just a touch of vinigrette. And I really don't like them over cooked. They have to have a little bit of snap!

I steam my asparagus. That way it doesn't lose all it's nutrients in the boiling water. I steam all my veggies. They come out wonderfully tasty. Although, I did once have asparagus cooked on the grill. It was so yummy. My sister in-law cooked it that way at a party. I have yet to try this myself.

I like to have mine steamed a little with some butter on it. I steam it in the microwave, too. One woman I knew insisted that you can't steam things in the microwave, but I can and I did.

I very much like asparagus but used to hate it if it was mushy - so I buy the fresh stalks (friends have it in their garden which is always a treat) and cut off the woody ends - then I put the bundle tied together standing upright in a few inches of water - and let it steam. as I have aged I have found the mushy does not offend my senses so much as it used to and I have become accustomed to canned asparagus - but it is no way near as good as the firm steamed fresh asparagus. great easter veggie

I like mine steamed with butter and black pepper. It is also yummy in chicken flavored rice and vermicelli. Asparagus beef is another of my favorites. We used to grow asparagus a long time ago, and I'll never forgot how wonde3rful it was to collect the first sprouts of the spring...so tender and delicious. I realize I am a little later in replying to this topic, but I wasn't a member yet a year ago!

Stir Fried Asparagus - This is how stir fried asparagus fried with fresh scallops will look like.
My favorite asparagus dish is stir fried asparagus with scallops, which is a Chinese dish that is very popular in the Chinese Restaurants. The asparagus are usual young and tender, not fibrous while the scallops are fresh ones which are just tossed around in the wok till they are just cooked, so they come out very succulent. It is a really delicious dish, and if you should have the chance to eat in a good Chinese Restaurant, ask for this dish.
