Two years ago I decided to go to the museum. I've been very embarassed that many tourists from all over the world come to my country to see this museum, and yet I was too lazy to do so. So, I decided to go with my brothwer and it was one of the best things that I've done. Plenty of magnificent things that I've seen and learnt; I was really excited about it. Next day, I was talking with some of my friends about it. I was surprised by the reaction of some. They just felt like I was an idiot or something, or may be a nerd or stupid. One of them told me "Why do you waste your time on this uncool stuff?" It really pissed me off. What do you think? Do you go to museums? Which ones? Do you find them boring?

I live close to The Royal Ontario Museum here in Canada. I love the Eygyptology collections, and this Spring they will be adding an ancient Peru exhibit. I try to visit the museum at least once per year, but am always shocked at the amount o people who live in our city that either have never bothered to visit even if they've lived here their entire lives or worse have never heard of it or have no clue where it is! We even have a subway stop called museum that stops at's it's entranceway!!!! Here is a link to more ino onthe ROM: http://www.rom.on.ca/

It's really sad that many people like to stay ignorant. I've checked the link and it seems very interesting; I really wish I can go there one day. Thank you for your response.

Glad you enjoyed your visit, and I certainly hope you won't let your friends' ignorance discourage you from going to many more museums. There are many kinds and they usually all have something interesting to see and learn about. And they can be fun, too. Maybe you could talk your friends into going with you some time. They might be surprised to find they enjoy it.

I think museums are great.Where I live thee are many museums. My favorite is the Air ans Space Museum. It has models of airplanes and space craft. Once I saw a film at the museum that made you feel you were flying in an airplane. Now that was cool.

I love art so I try to visit musuems as ofen as possible. Of course I like art musuems best, but natural history museums are neat too. I love Washington DC just because of all the great museums. If you ever get a chance you should go. There is the Air and Space museum, the National History, National Gallery of Art, the Holocaust Musuem and tons of great monuments. I would feel sorry for your friends because they don't know what they are missing. I think its always interesting to learn something new, not at all nerdy or stupid. While you were doing something new, what were they doing with their time to better themselves?

I've actually been to a museum only once or twice. The first time was for a class field trip and the second time, my friend had to drag me to come with her because her class project required her to visit a museum and she wanted company. I really find museums in our country boring. I don't know, I guess, history never interests me. But if it were like, the Louvre, or the Met, I'd probably be interested.
