mine would be "The Sound of Music". it's a classic musical film based on a true story of the Von Trapp family, starring julie andrews and christopher plummer. the story is just so good, the actors and actresses played their part very well, and most of all, the music! i love all the songs, very unique/original, i could watch that movie over and over again!:)

I love the Sound of Music, and many other musicals, including Grease, Oklahoma, and many others, but I am a big fan of Debbie Reynolds, so I would have to say the Unsinkable Molly Brown. Though the dancing in Seven Brides from Seven Brothers is great.

Nowment, have you seen Debbie Reynolds in Singin' In The Rain? She keeps up with Gene Kelly. It was a great musical.

I love musicals. I grew up watching them. The Sound of Music is great I agree but I like many others as well. I love Calamity Jane. It's funny but the songs in it are wonderful. Doris Day and Howard Keel have beautiful voices. One musical I love has actors in it you wouldn't think to find in a musical and that's Paint Your Wagon. It has Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin along with several others. It's a great movie and if you haven't seen it I would suggest you see if you can find it. Very good.

You picked the best one. My Aunt took me to see the sound of Music in Philadelphia and she brought me the album so I know every song in that Movie by heart. It is a true story you know. The best Musical ever. I cry every time I see it.

I prefer "Thoroughly Modern Millie" myself. It's completely politically incorrect, but it's funny and has great songs.

My favorite musical is Moulin Rouge (the new one with Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor) and Phantom of the Opera is a close second. I know these are both newer musicals, but I just love their story lines. Both of them draw me in and get right at my heart. Both have awesome music (I have the soundtracks to both) that I love listening to. Both also have great acting and singing.

Annie - hands down. I like The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz (amoung others) but Annie is my favorite. I always has been since I was a little girl...the orignal film not the remake.

I don't have one favorite. I have three. First is The Gay Divorcee starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. All I can tell you that involves mistaken identity. My second is West Side Story. It is Romeo and Juliet set on the streets of New York in the 1960's. It is timeless. The dancing is great. Last but not least is Chicago. Based in the late 20's or early 30's.It is a little racy in spots, but it is great.

Sound of music, definitely. It is a good movie, it has the action, the songs are good, and it is a good family freindly movie that is still fun. I have to agree with you on that one, Sound of music gets my vote for favorite.

I love Musicals. Sound of Music, Mary Poppins...they are hall of famers. I also once got caught up with Miss Saigon and Les Miserables but those weren't made into movie musicals. The last one that I really loved was the Opera Musicale, EVITA which was based on the life story of Eva Duarte Peron, the first lady of the President of Argentina. Antonio Banderas was remarkable in his role as well.
