what has been the enemy of your love ? how did you overcome it?

"Let me count they ways " LOL yes distance was a a problem. Hubby and I were separated for about 3 years before we got married, and it was a hard time for both of us. I think what helped us overcome it was actually being open about the fact that it was possible that it wouldn't work. NO big promises to keep no big promises to break. That took some of the pressure of. His family was one of the enemies as well. I am afraid they were never part of my fan club ( at least his parents and sister ) and still today it's easy for them to blame me for everything that goes wrong. Overcoming it was a matter of learning how to ignore them, but it took a long time and it almost helped destroy my marriage. Depression and financial distress must get on the list as well. Hard times, that left scars made us retreat into our own shells instead of facing them together as a team.We're still working on this one.. but I tend to feel that after sailing through so many storms we will probably be able to sail through this one as well. There were a few more things here and there -at times it looked like the whole universe was against us.. but we're still here :)
