I personally wouldn't. I have had, and believe me, when it ends, it isn't pretty. It is awkward to continue to work with the person, and causes tension among the other co-workers as well. You hear people gossiping and saying well I heard........ In addition, if you have any interest in promotions, it can interfer with that as well. So I would not encourage it.

especially when you are from the same department.and also ,it is a big risk for your repoutation and your career.there arereasons for every company policy so it would be best to stick to the rules.

No. Number one if it was against company policy I could loose my job if I got caught. TO make it worse, when an office romance ends, we're still left working with each other which can be uncomfortable. A definite no for this one.

yeah and its hard to keep mum about it since you can't tell anyone that you are into a relationship with an officemate, it 's like taboo.big risk for your promotion and as well as your dignity.you know how gossip mongers love to know the latest among you inside the office.

It would have to be a really special situation. He would have to be so cool and well wrapped. It would have to be entered into with a contract. Since it would be sooo difficult if you two split up. It would have to be kept between the two of you and that would be hard in itself. So easy to be found out. There are times when a relationship is bigger than the both of you. Most of the time is won't be worth it in the least. Not that many men that could make it worth it.

If I really wanted to be with someone I wouldn't care about office policy. It would be worth leaving the job if you wanted to be with someone that much. I dont think offices should be allowed to ban romances anway, and I don't know how they could enforce it.

it is against company policies, right? so if one needs his job then why let it happen even if not caught? as what has been mentioned, it can indeed cause talk and distraction at the office especially if the relationship has ended or are just having troubles. if couples allow it to happen, they are inviting other people at work to lessen the respect they have on their relationship instead of seeing their contributions as a team in the workplace. plus, it is never proper to have romance at the work place, that's why it is called that way. besides, they can do it in a lot more places that doesn't risk their career, social realtionship and further opportunities they will have in the office.

good point! if this relationship is somewhat a temporary thing,it's not worth the sacrifice at all.it may jeopardize your work.besides,it is quite difficult to keep it as a secret.
