Does anyone else get angered by outsourcing? Maybe it's just me and my location. I hate when I see a project that is worth a few thousand dollars get outsourced to someone that will do it for a few dollars... It sickens me. (This only applies to when the people paying for the services is in my country and they give the project to someone else) It messes with the economy and totally devalues what I do - programming, web design, coding, etc. Before you know it, I'll be competing for things under minimum wage and sending my daughter off to work so we can make ends meat. It's ridiculous sometimes.

I lost my job over it to the Chinese. I woked at Air New Zealand for 12 years when they decided to send the aircraft to China for maintenance. Layed off around 320 people including me. I believe pretty soon nearly all industries will be China based - the rest of the world cant compete with their slave labour, poor human rights and life is cheap attitude. Except maybe India!

Well.. these days people are more relying on outsource for they are cheaper and sometimes the quality are not being questioned as well. For they have the same ability but live in other part of the world. I myself are looking for outsourcing, and for all I know, even when I'm outsourcing, I will make sure that I could give a better service to the client. Because the clients would only want to know the result. In a way, we are also helping other people on the other part of the world to earn their living by outsourcing the jobs to them.

A majority of the products I see from outsourced jobs tend to be of poor quality - using technology that is 5-10-years-old, which is very old in the technology industry. My main problem is Canadian companies that aren't hiring Canadians anymore, because they're too cheap - instead, they hire people from other countries illegally.

Hi, for overall I do agree with you but what could we do about it? There is only one option, adapt on it and get used to. Me, myself now on doing some outsource work with some outsource software. The price is a bit low but I could perform the task in such fast. So, I can move to the other job. Well, I think that is worth enough :)

Beleive me, I understand what you mean but that is the way of the world. My biggest problem is that we are so slow to adapt. If it not ourselves being resistant or naive, then it is our government regulating the field or area of work in a way that we cannot compete. Take online gambling and/or poker, these are huge areas of money but they would rather ban and allow all of those positions to be overseas than legalize and regulate/monitor it. We know they will never do away with it either. Everytime they pass a new law they compromise our freedoms and way of life.

I totally understand that -- I was an affiliate in gambling/casinos... Actually, my sister, mother, and I were all affiliates. My mom's income was slashed in half by the US' new gambling law and now her house is for sale; she was, at the time of the legislation, a single mom of a 4-year-old. Sad, but I guess that is the way things go!
