I live in London, Ontario. To graduate highschool you must complete 40 hours of volunteer work. I think it is a great idea personally. Where you live, is there anything similar in place for the highschool students? If so, tell me about it? What do you think about what the students have to due here?

In our country it is a different thing we have to render citizen military training for the whole year to be able to graduate high school same in college too. In able for us to know how to depend our country if ever worst come to worst. But there is a law revising that code now it is the prerogative of the students on what he/she will join the citizen training or community service and they should do that every week.

Well it is good to be able to defend your country too. It is nice that they are going to get a choice now.

I think it is great and find it mind boggling that there are parents who disagree with this. How can they disagree with their children learning to have compassion? Over four years of high school, 40 hours is nothing! That's 10 hours a year, 1 hour a school month. What's the big deal? The thing I find most intriguing is most of these teenagers continue on with their volunteer work after their 40 hours have been completed because they enjoy it so much. What better way to raise our kids to be good adults?

That makes alot of sense. And there is such a wide variety of areas they can choose. There is no reason no to find somewhere you won't like.
