What's your myLot discussion answering strategy?

This is mine. When I get emails saying that my friends have started such and such discussions, I read everything and save the ones i want to answer. Then when I have time, I answer one by one. Sometimes, it takes a long time to answer and I answer weeks old discussions. But still i do it. What about you?

One problem I found was that my inbox was being flooded with emails from myLot, so I turned most of them off, so I would have room for other emails as well. LOL Like you Sheri, I have not been on myLot much in the past couple of months due to a variety of reasons, so can only do so much. But today I have decided that I will devote as many hours to myLot as I can, responding to discussions from my friends. In some cases they will be old discussions and in others, newer ones. Generally I will respond to one discussion for each friend but I changed my routine a little bit and now am doing just a few friends each time, trying to get through at least 6 discussions for each of them. However I was talking to a friend, who is a member of another forum actually, and she told me how she manages her responses. When she received notification of a new discussion, she saves it. Then when she has time, she types her response up into notepad (word would also do), so when she can get online it is a simple matter of doing a cut and paste. She said that it means when she is actually online she can get 20 or 30 responses in this way, whereas when she was typing them out while she was online, she could only do less than half that many done. It might be something worth considering anyway Sheri, because I do know that you are fairly busy with everything that is happening in your life.

Thank you very much and its a very good strategy. I think I will also try to follow that. I also mostly answer my friends' discussions. And I very hardly have time to answer others cos I also get a lot of discussions from friends. I try my best to answer other discussions as well anyway. Please thank your friend also for sharing such valuable strategy.

Glad to be of some assistance Sheri and yes I will pass your thanks onto my friend. Actually I haven't been doing it myself yet, but will have to start doing the same thing soon I expect. While our son is home I am sharing the computer with him but I could use the old laptop and type up the responses, then do a cut and paste from it. :)

Thanks very much for giving my best response Sheri, and I hope that you are able to put some of the ideas into place, including making responses in word (or notepad) and then posting them into myLot when you are online. :)

I keep selecting DISCUSSIONS MY FRIENDS STARTED and DISCUSSIONS WITH NO RESPONSE and whenever I find time, I keep responding to the topics in these two sections.

I do the same ssh. That's the reason you get responses from me after a long time you started a discussion. I go through the discussions and save the ones I want to reply. Then when I have time, I reply them.

Hi I go through my emails one by one, answering or deleting if I cannot answer. Some I save so I can think about them for longer. Then I go through the replies to my discussions. After that I check my best responses incase I need to thank anyone and discussions I have replied to incase someone has left a message for me, I do not go through all of these tho. If I have any time left I scoult around to see if theres anything else I want to reply to.

There are instances though I keep the discussions for weeks sometimes, I am unable to respond. But, even after a long time, I sure would answer, when my time permits. I also check my best responses all the time.

That's pretty much how I do it too. I really enjoy giving my two cents worth to my friends. Better late than never...I suppose. I used to be on myLot every day for hours at a time, but as tax season presented itself and desert season, my computer time is nearly sacred anymore. So once I answer my friends questions and I find extra time I then venture out to answer new people's questions.

I too dont come to mylot frequently now. Today, I have some time for me so I thought of coming here. I also think better late than never. Believe me, I have more than 500 discussions from my friends in my private mail box, awaiting my reply. One day, surely I would reply all those.

that's an awesome strategy. i think i'll borrow that off you (if you don't mind). i wasn't sure where to start, so i've just been going through the "discussions with no response" those can take a few hours to go through

I first respond to the discussion started by friends. But I slect the ones to be responded. Cant respond to all rubbish. Then I move on to tadays top ones. And then I post some new ones.
