Dandruff is a common problem of different age groups, leading to annoying, itchy scalp. my dandruff is seasonal, it is most common during winter season, in comparison to summer season. i have opted for nizoral shampoo that works best for me. which other products u suggest will be helpful in eradicating this fungus, home remedies are also welcome

Head and Shoulders work for me but my dandruff still comes back. From one of the seminars I have attended I learned that Lavender essential oil may elimiante dandruff. The speaker said that after shampooing rub a small amount of lavender oil on the scalp. Read more about the uses of lavender oil here (go see #15): www.essentialoiltherapies.com/uses_101_Lavender.html

Neutrogena T/Gel is good in preventing dandruffs and itchy scalp. I have tried a lot of brands including Nizoral but this one works wonders for my scalp.

Everyone will respond to something different. I would suggest you just keep purchasing a different brand each time you shop, until that balance will work best for you. Also, brush your hair alot, and don't wear dark clothes, as it will show up more on that. Use a conditioner for moisture for your scalp and hair, and rub it in good.

I've been blessed to never have dandruff, I use Mane & Tail shampoo and conditioner and love the products, my hair grows faster, I don't have as much hair loss as I do with other products, and no "build-up".

My son had an awful dandruff condition - the flakes would fall off like a white out of snow during a blizzard. As a teen that was quite embarrassing for him. His doctor prescribed a fungicide (prescription form of Tegrin I think) and it worked instantly, he now only uses only a smidgen of it a week for maintenance. The doctor also suggested, much to my surprise, to use a blow dryer or other hair dryer, as that is less drying to the scalp than water left on it would be.
