Do you ever pre-order DVDs because you're so eager to own a movie?

What movie have you seen in the theater and liked so well that you pre-ordered the DVD to get it as fast as possible? I'm thinking about pre-ordering The Fountain on Amazon because I liked the movie so much. It will be the first time, since I usually wait until used copies of movies are available and the price comes down.

No I've never pre-ordered one. I have thought about it but I've had friends who did and then a couple of weeks after the movie is out the price drops on it. They end up having paid sometimes a lot more on it only to end up getting the short end of the stick. I've also seen some order it, get it and then a week later the "deluxe" version comes out. I wait till it comes out. I normally don't have a problem with getting it then, not like the stores have a shortage, and then I don't have to worry.

The deluxe versions usually don't come out for several months, but it does get to be a ripoff. My son is such a movie nut that he always wants the most complete edition. He's gone through three versions of some movies and he's beginning to think it's better to wait than get the first one that comes out. But sometimes it's hard to be that patient.

The only movie that I did a preorder for was the movie "Lord of the Rings" as that was the one movie that I really enjoyed in the theatre and wanted so badly in my ocllection. All the other movies I wait til they are in the store as they are easily available here. We have so many places here that sell movies so there is no problem of being sold out or anything.

I've never pre-ordered a DVD. I rarely buy DVDs and if I do they're often used, like you said. I have been eager to see The Fountain. I never got around to seeing it in the theaters but it looked really good from the commercials/trailers. I love Hugh Jackman in pretty much any movie he's done.

I have pre-ordered DVD's before. I think I pre-ordered all of the lord of the rings movies in fact. I knew those were ones I wanted to own, and I was super anxious to own (and re-watch) them. I beleieve I put in the order with amazon.com. It was kinda fun becuase I didn't have to worry about remembering to order when the DVD became available, they just showed up one day...like a present to myself.
But yeah, those were pretty special movies. Usually I wait for something to go one sale.
