Haunted Houses and Ghost Stories

It's Friday night and I'm watching a show about ghosts and haunted houses and I thought it would be fun to share our own stories. I don't really want to debate whether or not they exist just discuss our experiences. In the house I grew up in I often saw a man either in my bedroom or standing in the doorway to the living room. He always just stood there watching and never did anything bad or scary. There was also a woman that I saw only a brief glimpse of once but her presence could often be felt. We would smell her perfume in the nursery room and she seemed to be around when small children or babies were in the house. The third ghost I saw there was that of a small child. I only saw him once. I was sitting in the front room in the middle of the afternoon when this little child (I assumed a boy) ran right by in front of me. He was wearing an old fashioned type night dress. There were also many little things that would occur indicating their presence. Footsteps coming up the stairs after we were all in bed, sounds of people entering the house when all the doors were locked, pictures hanging crooked...just odd little things. I never saw anything at my second house but it had a very bad feel to it. I don't know much of it's history but it just seemed like something bad had happened there. It's current history seems to show something is definitely wrong there. The owners before us left due to divorce, we left due to divorce, the next owners left in attempt to save their marriage, the people that bought it after that all ended up in jail. A convent then bought it to use as a retreat home for nuns but that didn't work out and now it's a retreat home for the monks that traded basically with the nuns. I've driven by quite a bit and it doesn't appear that the monks are using it much. So what are your stories?
