What makes a topic worth replying in?

What are the things that make a topic worth replying in? Is it the subject? The easiness of the response needed? Your freinds started it? I want to know why you guys choose to reply in some topics versus others so I can improve what my discussions are to hopefully get more responses. All responses in here get a possitive rating.

Hmm... customer feedback? In your case... the promise of a possitive rating... lol (j/k) Seriously, the depth of the topic, is it worth a discussion? And of course the friend's tread must entertain... Feedback for better quality discussion. (If the topics do not improve... most likely will not even look at any post by the specific user) Topics that can increase the knowledge for the person asking or myself. Uniqueness of the topic. The practicality of the topic. (Meaning... topics like should countries stop charging roadtax... is probably something i wouldn't even look at.) Danger of the topic, i normally avoid political and religious topics. (The difference between fanatics and terrorists is the name)

Thanks for your thoughts. I agree with most if not all of that. I try to make it so all my topics are atleast most of those already.

Seriously, the depth of the topic, is it worth a discussion? -I agree, I use this when making mine, because I like longer topics. I like to post in these topics because it gives me more of an idea what I can write about And of course the friend's tread must entertain... -Yes I much more prefer topics that I am intrested in over ones that I know little or nothing about. Feedback for better quality discussion. (If the topics do not improve... most likely will not even look at any post by the specific user) -I do look at the stars of people sometime and who it is. There have been a few people who I have grown to enjoy commenting in theirs yet there are others stay away because there's always something wrong with what I post. Topics that can increase the knowledge for the person asking or myself. -I do this too. Usually my topics are just questions that can easily be answered by everyone but then there are topics I have started to help me learn. I have yet to open one to help other increase their knowledge except if they have the same question as I. Uniqueness of the topic. -Sometimes I don't post by this. I like getting the easy posts of the same exact thing over and over. It's a bit easier to answer about 8 favorite sports questions. Yet there are times that I post in something just because it's unique. The practicality of the topic. (Meaning... topics like should countries stop charging roadtax... is probably something i wouldn't even look at.) -I guess, I'm not to sure about this as I'm not 100% on the meaning of this word, I'm guessing something that would apply to me? Danger of the topic, i normally avoid political and religious topics. (The difference between fanatics and terrorists is the name) -I don't avoid them that much, unless I think I'll get a bad rep for going one way or another. Any others you missed would probably be something that just relates to everyones lives that you may not really care all that much about that you just open to get a lot of responses because they are shorter ones that everyone uses to get a post credit. You had a good list though. I'm leaving it open for a bit longer then you'll get the best response.

Is there any that you do not agree with, do you mind stating them and the rational behind it? And whats your own feedback on responding to discussion?

I usually answer a question that I am interested in, I have a friends group and I always check to see if they have posted anything, because we seem to have very similar interests and concerns and values. The other thing I would recommend is to ask questions that people seem to find interesting, rather than vague or self serving topics

Thank you for that advice. I will try to use that later when I'm thinking of what topics I will make.

Well yeah you do make more when people respond in your discussions. The three days I've made a dollar I got 80+ replies in one of my discussions. So I'm intrested in this because I would like to know what others look for so that I know what to put into my topics. Also I thought this also might be a good topic to get replies in.
