Hmm..we often wonder what God looks like and what does he do. Does he have a form or not etc..etc. But I guess the various saints who have descended on earth have given us a good example that if we have to seek God we have to go within. And I guess, Mata Amritanandamayi is one among the great saints who is still working round the clock selflessly only for our own good. She sits there on the dias for hours together hugging millions of people and sharing her unconditional love as if all of us were here children and she the cosmic mother. Infact, she is an embodiment of love and no doubt the incarnation of Divine mother. I have met her 5 times now and everytime I've met her I've had a different experience altogether. Just feel as if I've felt all the love that I've been looking for. She truly does manifest the true qualities of God.

Hi cobradene, I was surprised to find that you had started a discussion to which no one had responded, and decided that since I liked the topic, I would give it a go. Many people have felt that God must have some kind of form, and being human, decided that God must look like a human. Since many cultures felt that men were superior to women, God, of course must be a man. This of course is just one example, but it shows how some people think. Your culture is very different from mine, and yet I feel that we have many of the same ideas. You speak of a Divine mother and this is a new idea to me, also I have never heard of Mata Amritanandamayi. I respect all belief systems and enjoy hearing about different ideas. Blessings my friend.

I agree with you. Like, even Christ gave respect to women and also he saw divinity in them as well. And the male ego which tends to dominate, usually thinks God has to be a male which is not true. God doesn't need to have a gender. He's beyond every rational thought of a human being. God is that, which is nothing, but everything. If you ever get a chance to meet her, please do and you will surely experience something nice. And it's just a blessing to get a hug from her. :) Can you imagine, she spends 20 hours sitting over there hugging thousands of people continuously? That's the power of God. That's divinity, which is able to give love unconditionally. :-) Blessings too.
