It appears I may have offended myLot ....

Reading a discussion on, "including myLot in discussions in an unfavourable way" brings nemesis with it, appears to be factual! I have gone down 5 rating points, all after a bout of tounge in cheek critisisms of myLot! I thought it might have been certain people giving negative ratings on a tag team sequence.... but I feel I could have given certain people too much credit!! If this is the case then I owe a few "friends" appologies for dragging them unwittingly into my banter. I suppose humble pie wouldn't do much good either, so time to get over it and move forward. Anyone else with the same goings on may well reflect on my tale!

Eagle, it is not that your friends have dragged you down. It is that some of your friends, like me, have dragged you down! You have a 4. I am a 2. You were a 9 while I was a 2. I'm sorry for bringing you down so low. :-) Actually, from what I can tell, it does not affect your pay, so who cares anymore?

You have gotta be kidding me red!! You have good factual and informative discussions and for the life of me I can't work out why the plummet??? Almost like a stock crash!! lol I am still not sure it isn't due to revenge ratings, but we will never know. I will have to be banned before I stop responding to my friends here!! lol I better not give them any ideas!!! hahaha

Eagle, relax and enjoy your time in here as I am sure you deserve it! Eventually you learn to take it less serious and just enjoy the discussions and making new friends! You certainly have not dragged me into anything (not so easy to drag anyway) lol I am still learning what is expected in myLot and it is not too hard after all. Keep up the good work and just cruise along at your own pace!

That's just it caramello, I wasn't taking it to heart and I think it's sad if the ratings are dependant on seriousness... different to sincerity, which I believe I am. I believe I have contributed to this site and have several die hard friends that I enjoy communicating with! Fear not, I am not down, but rather bemused by it all!

Who cares what they think? Are you still having fun? Are you still making money? Then - go for it.

Well, I have never been too keen on the star rating at all, because I have always been aware that if someone decided for some reason that they did not like you, then they could give you a negative rating. I do not mind that it happens, but I think that it should be given with an explanation as to why it is being given. That might stop some of the ones that are being given for quite inane reasons, or at least I suspect that this is what happens in some instances. Lately I have not been spending a lot of time here on myLot for a variety of reasons. I had been expecting to see my star rating fall, but so far it hasn't. It does appear therefore that I have not offended anyone of late. :) For me, myLot was always about the fun I had, the people I met, the friends I made and the discussions. Sure, the money was a bonus but it was not the real reason to come here for me. Now I am spending most of my time on a site that does not pay, but the camraderie there is wonderful. I am sure that your friends do not expect or want apologies from you, because they chose to respond to your discussions. That is the way that things do happen sometimes in that we have responded to a discussion to find that for some reason it has been deleted or whatever. Those who are your friends will understand only too well what is happening and those who don't, they are the ones with a problem, not you.

Thanks ossie, as yourself I am not concerned with the actual rating, it is the point that someone or group can deliberately target a member and as happened just the other week again to me drop 7 rating points overnight??? I don't take heart in the fact that I am not the only one experiencing this cowardly behaviour, as it only highlights the need to have a check plan in circumstances such as that and maybe Moderate the occurance. If the people giving the negs. have not got a plaudable reason, then reverse the rating back again and give the whimps a short holiday!! You enjoy your night/ day ossie.

I'm still wondering about myLot's attitude to some discussions. I know that my rating was shot down in flames for starting controversial topics, but myLot is perfectly innocent in this -- that was probably the doing of some narrow-minded people who couldn't take a different opinion than theirs. On the other hand, they tend to suppress some threads which -- to me anyway -- are perfectly innocuous. Some shocking titles see the whole discussion deleted because a few people here do not even read the content of the original post and report it as offensive. Then the myLot admins simply delete it without looking any further. My friend Sunshinecup was recently penalised for that. She'd started a topic whose title seemed insulting to illegal immigrants, whereas she was only referring to the mice that were infesting her house. Some people fell for it -- including me -- and it was hilarious. It'd be nice to see humour rewarded instead of penalised. So, Eagle, just keep posting and don't worry about your star rating. Some of my friends refer to it as a 'battle scar' that shows that you're not afraid to speak your mind, even if you ruffle a few feathers.

As you have probably noticed in some of my replies Thomas, I never let fear get in the way, but I try to remain respectful or at the very least humerous. But I am no different to others, if my buttons are pushed I react, sometimes with an acid tongue! Hahaha "battle scars", I think red would probably associate with that definition!! As I said above, banning is the only hope they have of getting rid of me and I don't think I have upset myLot that much really, as most comments were tongue in chhek about them anyway! You are right where it comes to your views on narrow minded people too! I have found that on the odd occasion but for the better part most of myLotians are friendly people.

MyLotians are indeed very nice people in their vast majority, and this is why I still post here. Keep it up! :)

Well as I am new here .. so I don't know much about this stars but after reading many posts it seem like we should concentrate on our work and should not care much about the stars and just be the way we are.

True, it is the fact that individuals can deliberately award negative ratings with no consequences that ruffle my feathers, (haha excuse the pun), not saying what I think and earning a negative rating for that! So I will continue to be me as that is the only person I know how to be..haha By the way ... welcome to mYlot.
