What are your thoughts on the team that claims to have found the tomb and remains of Jesus, Mary Magdalene and other family members? Do you believe that this is a true find? My lessons from youth tell me Christ rose again body and soul. I think this will be interesting to follow, but i do have my doubts about just who these remains are/were.

I'm kinda neutral on this subject. However, I don't like this type of documentaries made by discovery. I think they are sometime missleading. Like they make what they are talking about as the ultimate truth without providing much evidence. Also, the involvement of a Holywood director casts more shadow on the whole issue.

I left a long reply to your comments on Gnosisquests post. If Jesus was crucified and assended into the clouds but was a teacher that Loved Mary and wanted to fulfil his life on Earth, what is the harm in that? Do you think the Crucifixion was the Will of GOD?

GreatWhiteBuffalo.. (great name!) There would be no harm in it.. and there would be no reason to hide it.. Every good Jewish boy was expected to marry.. Rabbi or not.. Yes, when God endowed rationality, and knew a whole-new-world (or tree) of-possibilities, now was not only possible, and likely, but sure to come to pass.. he built right into creation the sending of the Son to recover angel, man and universe.. He designed it into everything "from the foundation of the world". His other option, would have been to never endow thinking ability anywhere, anytime.. Because the human psyche feels its guilt (imperfection)and feels it must offer a sacrifice, so flawed are we, God provided the sacrifice; the only ever needed. It is made dramatic to penetrate the thick (human, and eventually angelic) pyche...

Yes I do, I believe that was one purpose for His coming to earth. God sent His Son to be our Saviour. I do not ask others to believe as I do, just to respect my beliefs as I do theirs. I am not quite sure what your question on harm is. Are you asking why would God allow Him to be crucified instead of fulfilling His life on earth?

...in those days, every other person was named Mary.. or Joseph.. etc.. even Jesus.. The new testament gospels are the most documented documents of their day.. more substantiated than any others. And reading them you can tell they are memories and eye witness accounts, because they differ in many small details.. but is the same story. "the Oscar-winning director said the evidence was based on sound statistics" - the "evidence" is based on what? sounds very double speak to me.. :))

No not every other person was named Mary and Joseph there were as there are today many people named Mary and Joseph, but not everyone. The N/T Gospels are not well documented and have been changed many times over beginning about 300 - 400 years after the Crucifixion. The original writings were deystroyed, so many changes have occurred that nothing is likely to be evidence of any thing remotely true, the truth is in the small details and the things that you wouldn't think important. When you can see the hand of man passing over the pages of the Bible you learn that the Bible is filled with other peoples agendas and manipulations. Let's take the biggest lie out of the Bible, and that is the existence of Satan and Hell... It would be a beginning to knowing the truth...

I don't believe this. I believe the Holy Bible. The Lord Jesus was resurrected and He lived again. In fact, He taught His disciples 40 days more before He finally ascended to heaven. How could there be any remains of Him. Besides, that was more than 2,000 years ago. Nothing more can be seen as His remains if He was not resurrected. The Lord is alive and is now sitting in the right of His Father in heaven.

Hello All!! To add to this discussion, I believe that this is ridiculas to even think that what they are claiming is true. Just another thing to stir up B.S and make you wonder AGAIN. First the Divinci Code, now this??? They claim this FIND was a year before that movie/book was written/made. Now about the life of Jesus, don't you think that in the BIBLE Jesus would have stated or SOMEBODY ELSE would have stated that he had a wife and child and was married??? Much less about his bones being there after He risen. All it said was the tomb was EMPTY, meaning NOTHING in there except the cloth he was wrapped in. NO BONES IN IT AT ALL. If they had bones in there, wouldn't they have said in the BIBLE bones were left w/ cloth and soul only rose up??? Just think about this: they have ALOT of people in the Bible that followed and knew him and would have wrote this along w/ the million other words that they wrote about him and what Jesus had to say and what he did on earth---ya think?? YEA!!! Now about His name---ALOT of people TODAY have the name of Jesus and pronounced differently all over the world. Could it have been that they are trying to run a scam---a scam to make you believe otherwise and try to make you loose your faith or really question it....that's all. You ever heard the saying "the proofs in the pudding", well, take the BIBLE in your hands and read it, and their is your proof. If there was anything else we needed to know, I think it would be stated in the BIBLE ONLY. Married, kids, burried all together in one molded box and where are they getting this DNA from??? Just maybe it COULD be other family members on Joseph's side of the family that named their people after one another as we do today and once again it would have been printed in the BIBLE for us to see and learn....nothing else in the bible was/is wrong, so what makes them think they found something NEW, that is NOT and NEVER will be in there at all, Jesus stated what? Don't add or take away from this book or what will happen???? Right? So forget and don't listen to that non-sense. That's my opinion. Anyone else??? In Jesus name I end this........Leah

Leah, Do you have a learning disability? A comprehension problem maybe? What you wrote falls short of the glory of GOD, after all it is not the tomb of the crucifixion but an event that happened after the crucifixion, what happened to Jesus, he was hidden so that he wouldn't be abused yet again. He lived with Mary and they both were teachers, you can not stop the truth from being told. Do you know what happened to me? Do you close your eyes, ears and mind to the lies told about others? Is this what GOD calls you to do? In Jesus name, learn more, I'm sure much is wrong but I'm also looking for those things that are correct. You have no power to end anything in any name if you do not know the truth.

I do not understand how they can say that this is Jesus. I just don't. I am going to watch the show, when it airs. But, it just doesn't seem plausible to me.

Me either Tarsa, and I also find it disturbing. Maybe though I need to re-read this part of the scripture, I was not aware His remains were put into any kind of box.

Well, faith aside, I just don't see how they can possibly know that it is Jesus anyway. It's got to be all speculation, I mean after allllllll these years, there can't be anyway to confirm that. What I am trying to say is, they can't possibly have DNA that belongs to Jesus to check it against or anything like that so...what are they basing this on?

To believe or not to believe about the latest findings will be up to us. People can have their own perception about whose body it is really. People may also questioned about the authentticity of what's written in the Bible. I only believe in one God. I read the Bible everyday and I believe every words written in it. For those people who claimed to have found the body of Jesus Christ, I can't comprehend how they can really prove to us that the remains really belongs to Jesus.

As per Bible, we know where the TOMB of Jesus was & also we have found it. The details are mentioned in scriptures. However, it will be very difficult to ascertain the remanants as that of Jesus only because we have no physiological evidences of Jesus Body. Further, it is pertaining GOD & everything proceeding in this arena must be revealed to World at large. GOD will send message to blessed ones which will help us to know on this account & such things have happened in all religions. GOD messages comes & this is proved also.
