I enjoy listening to Charlie McCoy and Larry Adler. My favorite piece I've heard performed by Charlie McCoy is "Orange Blossom Special". Those harmonica solos are absolutely amazing! My favorite piece I've heard by Larry Adler is Rhapsody in Blue. I could only dream about being such a great harmonica player! I love listening to harmonica music. I'm very impressed by great harmonica soloists.

I love the sound of the blues played with a "harp"...and That means Sonny Terry and Brownie Maghee.

Oh I love the blues too! I tried to learn, but that seems to be something that you either pick up or you don't. Apparently I studied classical music for too long to understand playing without sheet music.

That's something I've heard before...too musically disciplined to be free. Ahh well, you can't have it all lol

Wow, thanks for all the additional info! Larry Adler has a book out too, "Me and My Big Mouth" I think it's called. I bought it and have a copy somewhere, but haven't read it yet. I didn't know he was playing by ear, that's amazing!
