I heard on the radio that a lady was turning 40 and that was a huge milestone for her...is it 20? 30? 40? 50? What do you think??

My personal milestone was actually 28. That was because it was just 4 days after my son turned 10. It somehow bothered me that I had a son who was in double digits! :) When I was a teenager I couldn't believe that I would make it to 30 but now that I'm working up to 50 I haven't felt another milestone but I think when I hit 70 that will be the next one. Up until 70 I think they are ages that everyone hits unless they come upon something tragic in their lives like illness or an accident. But making it to 70 that not everyone does. My paternal grandparents both were over 80 but on my mother's side they die much younger. My mother didn't make 65 and my dad just hit 65 and talks like he could be gone anytime. I'm working hard at staying healthy so that I can hit that milestone of 70 and 80. I know many people feel milestones at much earlier ages and perhaps cause I felt so much older at such a young age I certainly don't feel old now.

I had a few misgivings about not being a teenager anymore when I hit twenty but my milestone age was definitely thirty. That was a tough one. I've since passed two more milestones but they didn't bother me much. I think the problem with thirty may have been that I came from the generation that didn't trust anyone over thirty. And there I was!

I'm looking forward when I hit 30 this year! I just feel so mature yet feel so young still.
