I'm sure that I am not the only person who is an enormous fan of Jim Carrey's newer flick "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" It was quite possibly one of the best movies I have seen to date and proves that Jim Carrey really CAN act, regardless of what many other people may think or say. Has anyone seen the commercial for his newest film "The Number 23"? This looks like an incredible movie. I'm very excited to see it. I have always been a huge fan of Jim Carrey but after seeing his newer films, I love him even more. The man is blessed with amazingly good looks, intelligence and an insane amount of talent.

I have been a fan of Jim Carrey's since I watched the movie "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" and I've seen his growth through his roles all the way to the newest movie he has been in which was "The Number 23". I like that after his initial success with all of the silly comedies he did, he decided to change things up and do something different. When he did "The Truman Show" it was the first glimpse of a man trying to break out of the stereotype he had cast himself into as the slapstick comic actor. He tried his had at a few other serious roles and seemed to gain more critical and fan acclaim for what he was doing. I know that personally he blew me away in "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind". I feel like Jim Carrey has become a very versatile actor and has the talent to be able to take on any kind of role that Hollywood throws his way. I could see him in a romantic comedy one minute and then a more serious film the next. He has the versatility and talent to be able to pick and choose his roles as he sees fit and I think he has done incredible so far in doing so. If he continues down this road, picking more and more varied styles of movies, it won't be long until he is recognized by Hollywood for his talent. I could see him receiving Oscar nominations a few years down the road. I know sooner or later he will pick that role that will define his entire career and allow him to use ever single one of his acting talents & abilities in one movie role. He is such a good actor that he deserves everything he has gotten up until now. I find that he seems to be the type of actor too that a lot of actors now a days want to work with. I can totally see why too. With an actor as talented as him, I could see every actor he works with having to lift up their game to match his. It's like he inspires all of his fellow actors to be better when he's working with them. That's a pretty big effect to have on someone much less a group of people. I would love it if I could sit down with him and just get a chance to talk to him. I'd love to ask him what motivates him to pick such diverse roles. Personally I do appreciate his more serious roles more because there is a little more reality infused into them. He's not playing a character who is so over the top and crazy all the time. Not only that but the characters he's interacting with aren't so cartoonish either. They are actual human beings, not like most of the characters in the Ace Ventura movies or the Batman movie he was in. Those characters are as over the top or as outlandish as he was in their roles. In conclusion, I believe that Jim Carrey is one of the most talented actors in Hollywood today and he will only get better with each movie he stars in. I really enjoy each role he takes on but I prefer his newer work which is a little more serious than silly. I'm glad I've had the ability to watch such a good actor grow and become so much more versatile over the years! . . Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

I totally agree with you. I've loved Jim since Ace and I have yet to see one of his movies that I didn't like. I loved him in eternal Sunshine. It is one of my favs that he has stared in. I am eagerly waiting to see "The number 23" I can definitely see him becoming like Robin Williams and making a name for himself in Hollywood. I especially like that he is Canadian like me!

I agree with all you said. I really like him. I have not seen Eternal Sunshine yet, but want to. The Number 23 looks AMAZING! I can't wait to see it, too. :) I am so glad to see him branch out into more than just goofiness. I love his goofiness, but love to see this side, too.

Jim Carrey as Andy Kaufman - Jim Carrey as Andy Kaufman in "Man on the Moon".
I love the job he did in "Eternal Sunshine". I'm not really a huge Carrey fan though. I don't like a lot of his older movies but I do like some of his newer ones including "Bruce Almighty". I don't agree with you on the good looks though. He's not ugly but I don't think he's good looking. I do think he's brilliant though in his acting and he takes his roles seriously. He also did a fantastic job in "Man on the Moon". I haven't seen "Number 23" but it does look interesting.

I didn't get to see ESOTSM on its cinema release, but Happened to catch most of it on finding it airing on TV some time ago,and what I saw pushed me to buy the DVD,having Loved it..It really draws you in to the story! it does keep you guessing and was really worth rewatching..I remember watching and wondering if that technology were available, and these people were so wrong yet so right for one another, could it be possible that they'd actually repeated the procedure before, that what you saw on screen wasn't their first time around together,or even the second? On investigating, there was a version of Charlie Kaufman's screenplay available where this was actually the case, that they'd apparently gone through a lot of their lives this way,and end up as seniors being still drawn to one another then splitting up..
