Is your life what you thought it would be? Is there something you wish you could change?

There is only one thing in my life that if I could I would change. I had joined the Air Force and had intended in making a career of it. I was stationed in Turkey and met my husband and after some time of dating we decided to get married. Well, my husband wanted to start a family and although I would have rather waited I went ahead and got pregnant to please my husband and also got out of the service. That I have regreted many times over. I have never regreted marring my husband or having my child. I wished many times that I had stayed in the service. At this time of my life I would have a retirement check. But as they say life goes on.

Yes a retirement check would be really nice. I won't be having one either, I am self employed and unfortunately it doesn't come with a pension or retirement check.

This is definitely not what I wanted for my life. I did not count on getting a chronic illness, being unable to work, and struggling financially. Could this have been prevented? There are many theories about fibromyalgia. One is that mono plants a virus that remains dormant until triggered by a traumatic event. So what could I have done to prevent the traumatic event? I don't think there was just one. I think there were many that piled up adding stress to my body until it just couldn't take it anymore. Maybe my first mistake was getting mono to begin with. But I don't know whether I had control over that or not. We make the best with what we have and strive for the best we can be.

My life is nothing like I thought it would be. Saying that though, I don't think I had any ambitions or expectations. I was certainly not encouraged and I was criticised for my choices. I wanted to be a nurse or a vet. Before that I wanted to be an actress and I had a rare opportunity. But my father forbade me to take it. He also forbade me to do nursing. I was struggling at school and ended up pregnant and my father forced me to marry. Then the family abandoned me.

My life is definitely not where I thought it would be but I also don't think I would change anything about it because I believe things happen as they are supposed to happen. Sometimes things don't go our way. Life happens!

Hi, offcourse my life and my thoughts dont match. Thats wahat is called life where the real life and reel life can be seen seperate and mismaching. i have always planned a lot for my self and the society, well nothing seems possible even at this stage. Not that i have stopped or turned away from my dreams, but I really cant figure out how to match the thoughts of mine to the life i lead in reality. Probably they would never be even near. If i could change then i would like to have a special power by which whatever i think i want to do i can do and also edit it where ever i fel could be necessary. Offcourse the power could be used only for a good cause or else not. But i would also have profit out of it. Then again reel life is not same as real life so better forget about special powers and fictions. Lets see what reality has got to give me.

I would say my life is as I thought it would be. Except I did think I would have a big career after college and that never happened. The only thing I would currently change is having a bit more income, which I'm working on. One reality I've learned is: you can't do it all. I learned that in motherhood right away.

No but when it was what I dreamed of it being I foudn out that it really wasnt what made me happy. I am happier now than I have been in a long time. I am thankful to God for my family and the positive changes in my life and sure wouldnt take back the life I had compared to where I am heading now.

Thats a good one. Is my life what I thought it would be? Honestly...I don't know. I don't know when I stopped dreaming. My earliest memory was of wanting to get married and have children. A small part of me still wants that but owing to my advancing age, I may need a little help from science. As for my professional life, when the marriage and children thing didn't happen I thought that I would like to be self employed. So far that too has not materialized so I survive as best I can.
