The City of Santa Monica, CA has removed ANTM ads from its buses saying that the ads disrespected women. I haven't seen the ads but I have seen other advertisements for the show online and on tv. Do you think ANTM objectifies women or disrespects them at all? I don't know how I feel about this...I watch the show when it reruns on VH1 for the drama factor but in no way do I think it empowers the women on it. What do you think?

Nope I don't think it objectifies women. There are male models out there who wear next to nothing, but there just doesn't happen to be a show about them. I don't think it empowers women but I don't think that's the purpose of the show. The show is meant to find a model, and to entertain the audience by showing what models go through. I would never do 90% of the photos they are asked to do! but it's still interesting to watch in the same way as any other reality show focused on a proffesion. So when are they going to do America's Next Top MALE Model? Hmmmm?? I'm sure there would be thousands of ladies watching that one!

Actually, there WAS a show called Manhunt, hosted by Carmen Electra. I watched it with my roommate every week! It wasn't as good as ANTM though. I guess boys aren't as dramatic!
