I have read that there are woman that go into labor and they do not even know that they are pregnant to begin with. How is this possible? I am currently 8 month pregnant. And I am VERY aware that I am pregnant. I am huge, my baby kicks constantly, and I am not having a period. Does anyone have any experience with this or have gone through it? Any thoughts? Is it a matter of just being neglectfu to your body?

I can't imagine not knowig=ng either!! I have two kids and was very well-aware that there was a baby inside my belly. It isn't like you could just miss all the signs...

I don't understand how a woman wouldn't know!!! You would almost have to. Not every woman goes without the period. (my aunt and sister both had theres the entire pregnancy) But the baby moves and kicks!! I really don't know how they can say they had no clue. I think that they are too afraid to go to doctor, or they just really don't care about the baby. If they don't care about the baby, they should at least have the monthly checkups, and if once the baby is born, and they still don't want it, put it up for adoption. I had a friend who years back didn't know she was pregnant right away. She didn't find out till her 4th month. The reason for it was that her monthly cycle was off anyways, so if she went months on end without a period, that was normal to her. She found out because she felt the baby move. She immediatly went to the doctor. So, why women say they don't know is beyond me, and your guess is as good as mine. I just thought that I would share my story with you.

At least you friend did care when she realized that the baby kicked! I agree, I don't know how you wouldn't know! I saw a story on the news a couple days ago about this and it peeked my curiousity.

I don't understand how someone would NOT know they were pregnant! I'm only 3 months pregnant with my third child and I definately can tell I'm pregnant. It just baffles me that this can happen.

Huh! How is it possible? If a woman is pregnant, she undergoes several changes in her body. Maybe it is not about negligence to own body but pure stupidity.. :(

I don't see HOW they could not know they were pregnant, or at least know something is going on! I got huge with both of my kids. However, when I was pregnant with my son, my husband and I were out to eat and I went to the bathroom and there was a girl about 15 or 16 in the next stall moaning and what not. I told my husband when I came out that it sounded like she was having a baby - don't know why I knew this - sure enough she was. Her parents did not even KNOW she was pregnant; she claimed that she didn't either. She even went so far as to try to hide it by trying to dispose of the baby in the toilet! What kind of world is this that we live in today?

Hi, apparently some women carry their babies very high right up in their ribcage. Some also don't get the telltale swollen belly that most of us experience. Menstruation can continue right through pregnancy in some women also and whilst many of us felt nauseous, tired and emotional whilst pregnant some suffer none of those symptoms.
