What are the top 5 things/gadgets/spices/seasoning you really need in your kitchen? These are the things you definitely need while cooking. For me it would be a non-stick pan, italian seasoning, oven mittens, blender or food processor, and bouillon cubes :) How about you?

1) A nice and sharp knife. I like cutting the meat myself, use the knife when peeling potatoes, carrots... I just find it very hard to cook when the knife is not sharp enough... and it kind of gets on my nerves... 2)A nice skillet. I love those old fashioned skillets, with a thick bottom. I don't find myself very comfortable using those teflon skillets... 3)Garlic Powder & Pepper. Gralic powder is my husband's favourite, he adds it to almost everything and I just keep on adding black pepper to virtually anything too. 4)Music. I can't cook without music... I need to have something on the background while cooking. The food comes out better with it! 5) Ham & Cheese. That's my favourite. I add ham and cheese to everyhting I can...hahhaha!!!!

My top 5 things that I absolutely need in my kitchen are 1)my big soup pot. I make alot of soups and I make big batches. I've tried to make it in smaller pots but it doesn't work out. 2)GARLIC!! I love garlic and use it in everything. Right now I have fresh garlic, a jar of minced garlic in the fridge and some garlic salt. I own a garlic press and a garlic slicer but it's so much easier and faster just to chop it up myself. 3)Bags of mixed dried beans. I've always got these in my cupboard. They are a great base for soups and they thicken them nicely. 4)a toaster. I'd live on sandwhiches if I could. LOL. Anything and everything is great when you put it between 2 slices of toasted bread. And it's the first kitchen appliance my children learn to use. Now when they are bugging me for something to snack on I can just tell them to make their own :) 5)honey. There are just so many health benefits to honey. It's great for you and it tastes so good.

Wow-I am a pretty avid cook and I love to be in the kitchen! My kitchen actually lacks a lot of necessities as I am still working on building my collection of proper utensils, cookware, etc. But let's see my top 5-LOL split in to catergories because one is just not enough! Utensils: Spatula, Pyrex casserole dish, colander, food processor, and liquid measuring cup. Ingredients: Butter, milk, garlic, Mrs. Dash, and basil. But of course I could go on and on and on...LOL

for me the top five would be non stick pan, tinfoil, knife, italian seasonings, butter. But I would prefer to add microwave to the list as number six. One time we lost gas power there was trouble on the line, I cooked the entire meal with a coffee maker [close as I could get to boiling water] and electric frying pan. I can always curl up a towel or even old t-shirt if I can't find my oven mitts.
