Do you look at the keys when you type? Or are you a fast typer? I never acomplished typing so I still stuggle with my typing skill.

I still look at the keys when I type also. I can type pretty quick now by doing so. I had two years of typing in high school but I just couldn't make myself get used to using the keyboard without looking. I just found it alot faster for me to type by looking at the keyboard at the same time. It is easier to type and make sure you hit the right keys when you are looking at what you are doing, even though sometimes I still mess up on keys here and there, but not too often.

I learned basic typing when I was at school but by the time I had gotten to using a typewriter again I had forgotten everything I learned. I was using just two fingers and it annoyed me because I was so slow. I then bought a Mavis Beacon typing course on dvd and I practised on that for a while. I am still not great but I am hoping to improve with time.

I did a touch typing course over 20 years ago and have worked as a secretary in the past; I used to type about 70wpm but it's probably about 60 now. I tend to look at the monitor and use all fingers for typing. I have to admit though that the guys I work with in IT type REALLY fast with just 2 fingers, so fast that I expect smoke to start coming out of their keyboars any time! I always thought it was just people who used all the fingers on the "correct" keys that could type that fast but I've been proven wrong it seems!

Well i never learnt typing anywhere, but still since i have been working on the computer for years now, typing has certainly become my forte! now i can typre at a good speed. and sumtimes i feel so irritated when someone else is typing for me and takes HOURS to locate where is 'b' and 'z'... but then i understand that there are things that even i am bad at and he might be good at it! :) BTW u started a really interesting thread, i wouldn't have ever thought of such an interestin discussion! :)
