I have finally decided to swap my old phone over, I've got a Nokia 6280 and my old phone is a Nokia 6630, I've changed the sim card over, but when I've tried to put the memory card in so I can just copy my contacts across the memory card on the old Nokia is too big and it won't fit! How do I swap my contacts over without having to reprogram them all in again? I hate changing mobiles over and all the gadgets on them! Can anyone please help me out, suggest how I can get all my contacts onto my new phone the easiest and painless way! Any other tips for a mobile dummy would be greatly received!

Do both mobiles have bluetooth? This is away which you can do. Depending what features you're mobiles have, I believe all Nokia ones have a contact address export. So you can send them via bluetooth to each handset. If not then the quickest way would be via your computer. Either bluetooth adapter to mobile or data cable and using the nokia movie suite. If you need any help, Just pm me buddy. ~Joey Goodluck!

I know makes you laugh doesn't it when children can programme videos and dvds and grown adults haven't got a clue. Remember if you ever have a childproof bottle, pound to a penny adults can't open the damn things but children can ;0) x

Contacts are usually saved to either the phone memory or the Sim card NOT the memory card, so if they are not showing when you put your Sim in the new phone it sounds like they are saved to the old phone memory. You should be able to put the Sim in your old phone and you should have the option in contacts to copy all to Sim (you might have to do them one at a time) then once they are on the Sim you can either leave them just on the Sim or can copy them to the new phones memory. The 6630 uses an MMC card and the new one uses miniSD card, yeah it is a pain when you have a phone that has a memory card and you upgrade your phone same make just a different model and then find out it takes a different type/size of memory card.

Well, you can also try sending it one by one when all else fail via bluetooth or infrared:P I think there's an option to send all. When i have to change phone, i always make sure i have all contacts saved both in my sim and phone memory. that way, if one fails, i can easily access it. You can try to use your old phone since your memory card wont fit with the new one and start copying All the contacts to your new sim using the old phone. Im not familiar with the model you have but my phone lets me copy all my contacts to the sim card though. Once its all in your new sim card, i guess it will be easier from there.

Try to find a software for nokia phone called sVCard, install it in your handphone, and then you can copy and save your contact. to save your messages, u can use a software called MessageSaver.

Just about a week and a half ago I had my cell phone stolen. I had so many numbers in there that are VERY important to me, and it just sucks now that I am going to have to go through the exact same thing! But I am hoping that they can "reprogram" everything over the phone for me! I guess we'll see. But when I did have a cell phone through nextel (I don't recommend ANYONE getting a phone through them), they reprogrammed the phone right there in the store, but that's just what happened there. But I'd call the company and see if they can help you with that problem. Good luck!

What you can do is synchronize your 6630 data like contacts, calendar, notes, inbox to a PC using a data cable for your cellphone. After synchronizing, connect your new phone (6280) to your PC then synchronize it again so it will transfer all your 6630 data from your PC to your 6280. The software that I use to synchronize is Nokia PC Suite. It usually comes in a CD when you buy a new phone. If you don't have the installer, you can donwload it from the Nokia website for free. Just select you're phone model and it will direct you to the page where you can download the PC Suite.

well if both phones have bluetooth you can send them through that, if not then you will have to put them in your new phone 1 by 1 mate

I presume you dont have a socket on it so you can connect it to you comp otherwise you probably would have though of this, but incase you do and you havent thought of it you can plug some phones into your PC and save all your numbers on your comp.

With my service provider we don't even have memory cards it's all done in the sims card. So maybe save all your numbers to your sims card first? Why do they make this stuff so difficult? Good Luck and don't do like me and get mad and throw the phone, cause no matter what plan your on your insurance won't cover that.

I think you should do one of two things 1.put the old memory card in the old phone and link it to your pc then copy to pc's hard disk and copy them to a memory card compatable with the new phone. 2. if both of the phones have a certain type of wireless connection such as infa-reb or bluetooth copy them over that way and if the other phone needs a sim to turn n just borrow a mates sim and explain that you will not use credit/free minutes. Hope this helps.
