Translation job on the internet

Malaysia
March 1, 2007 9:26pm CST
I've been invited to join as a translator in an online translation website. It's name is translatorscorner.com. The website is not open yet for clients and now it is collecting potential translators from all around the world to join. I just want some opinion from my dear friends about this opportunity. If anyone has ever some experience doing this type of job, please share some info with me? For others, if you just want to give some advice or anything, feel free to post here :) I am looking forward to all of your replies. Thanks in advance!

I am not good at translating and the knowledge of languages is limited. The local languages that I know is of no importance at international level.

Posting url is permitted but only with specific reasons. Spamming is not one of those reasons, obviously. Anyway, to join you just register, verify your email, post your resume and state your price per word, etc. according to your preference. Then open the site daily and see for projects. Bid if there are any projects suitable to you. If you are awarded the project, you can then start immediately.

I checked out the site - even without the link... - and it looks alright to me. You don't have to pay, there are hardly any fees once you get a pay out, so I would say: go for it!! All there is to lose are a few hours work!

Yesterday the site has opened its business! Now you can start working and start earning. I haven't got any client yet though, because I didn't let my comsole (online client chat) open yesterday. Just register if you want to be a member, I think. It is free 100%.

From what I read in the FAQ, this is a site where they won't collect any money at all to register. They only get their money after you have done your translation job. I think this site is operating exactly like Jobstreet.com and JobsDb.com where it is honest and has a secure payment method. The earnings they pay you is very high, though. You can decide to get paid for each word you translate, or you can choose to be paid hourly or daily. It's up to you. The language is so many. There is no limitation. As long as you are proficient in two languages, you are eligible to join. For me I am good both in Malay and English. So I just go ahead and give this site a try.

Even i've heard my friends who have enrolled their name in the above site, they got opportunity too, but it was hindi to english translation and moreover they wanted my friend to get it translated and get some advocates affidavit, so she said she can only translate and could not go back withe the advocate procedures etc so they kept things on hold, only this much i have information. If you get more information of the basic creiteria to enroll of this site etc you can let me know too.

Maybe you can look at this site. I am not joining because it has an annual fee to pay, I couldn't afford it but to look at their available projects, wow man.. a lot! And the paychecks are also fat, fat figures! I wish I could sign in this site!

I am just checking up on you about this type of job. Have you done any translation from this site yet? How is it going? I am a translator part-time, for people who needs their legal documents translated, and taking them to see the lawyers, etc. Sometimes, it is fun, other it is a real emotional wreck, especially in divorce cases. This is where I really enjoy every day little blessing.

What languages are you involved in? How's the pay? Well... I've received a number of projects in my emails from them, but I haven't done any jobs yet. We have to bid for projects, and actually I am blurred on how's the actual method on bidding. If somebody would like to be my manager, I would be very pleased and I am willing to split the revenue in half. I am good in Malay language and English. I know I can do this job, it's only that the thought of having someone to manage me is a greater idea. Looking forward to hearing from you or anybody soon. Thanks for the reply, friend.

$10 for a piece of birth certificate, to me that's a huge pay. I respect you for being able to earn handsomely from translating. Just a question, from where did you get your clients? I am really interested to know more. Thanks in advance!

It's Vietnamese, and English. The pay isn't that great and it depends on the type of document. For example, I get $10 for a birth certificate. The client will have to pay for notorization him/herself. To go to the lawyer or something else, it's usually 50 bucks for however many hours that it took. But i have to make a living so I am a jack of all trades....

Yeah, it is translatorscafe.com It's been purchased from translatorscorner. (Maybe, I'm not sure). I've joined this site, and I have been receiving projects to bid, but not yet successful to get one. So many projects to do, but no able to get it is a bit frustrating. Anybody wants to be my manager? I'm serious! Hope to hear from you or anybody soon. Thanks for replying. Have a nice day!
