Do you like watching old films? I mean those films that are in black and white? I love them...first of all black and white can create a soft and romantic atmosphere and secondly I am a fan of Greta Garbo, Bette Davis, Cary Grant, Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn, and so on...it was just last night that on Sky Classics I could see a great film with Bette Davis and Olivia...oh can't remember the full name...she was in Gone with the wind...it was a powerful film...two sisters..Olivia the good and Bette the bad one...what strong characters!!!! and what about you? tell me, please...maybe the films have a different title in Italy but if you describe it I'll understand!!!

Mae West and W.C. Fields The classic comedies.. Three Stooges and Little Rascals. My favorite mail actor is Paul Newman. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. To me Paul was the most handsome actor ever and not even Brad Pitt can compete with Paul. Audrey is also a favorite of mine..movie, Bringing Up Baby was great. Jimmy Stewart in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and Harvey. Wuthering Heights starring Lawrence Olivier. Zorba thr Greek with Anthony Quinn. I could go on and on...

Paul Newman is handsome, but I admire that he has made his marriage to Ms. Woodward last so long! As a child, my dad introduced me to The Three Stooges. Now THEY were funny - except Shep. : )

Yes,I went through a period of illmess andwas at home with a child who was very young at the time, only 3. He and I would watch the 10 Am Classics (he would, I would fall asleep midway through). They're brilliant if a small child will be riveted. For my little boy, he loved Jo from Little Women. It really stuck with him.

Oh, the old version was much better than the 1994 version with Winona Ryder.

I guess Olivia is Olivia de Havilland. I'm also fond of old films, my favorites are Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy - a wonderful couple! "Woman of the year", "Adam's Rib"... In "Bringing up baby" she is with Cary Grant, in "African Queen" with Humphrey Bogart. But you are an Italian, so I'd like to mention a black and white Italian serial from early 70ties, with very young and handsome Ugo Pagliai - "Il segno del comando". I was watching it in my early teens on Finnish TV, then it made a big impression on me. Couple of months ago I even found out, there were DVD-s available... but, alas, I couldn't find any with English or German subtitres. As much I know, there is a remake also but I'm interested only in original. The childhood memories, you know... Do you have seen it? And I have seen some great Italian oldies with Sophia Loren, and/or Marcello Mastroianni, like 'Marriage Italian-Style', and 'Divorce - Italian Style'

I love them, especially the soft focus semi blurry ones. It's something I associate with childhod and being sick and being allowed to watch television under a big quilt.

The only time I will watch anything black and white is Laurel and Hardy, the comedy in the 30s, I had all their videos at one stage. Getting them all changed into dvds is a costly business. I wasn't into westerns which were mostly black and white in my childhood and I am not struck on old films, in fact I don't have one single black and white film in my dvd collection. It's good that people still do appreciate them, but for me it has to be colour.

A lot of the great movies of the 1930's and 1940's were made in black and white. A lot of the best actors were alive back then. I love a lot of those old movies.

Are you speaking of Olivia de Haviland? That is the only Olivia I can think of that was a movie star at that time. I think there are black and white movie classics and there are black and white movie stinkers, just like today (all though these days there seem to be more stinkers than classics). 'Casablanca,' 'It's a Wonderful Life,' and 'Arsenic and Old Lace,' are just a few of the best. It is interesting to see that some Hollywood producers/directors are taking cues from the black and white days. 'The Good German,' starring Cate Blanchett and George Clooney is one of the recent movies done in black and white. The effect can cause a difference in mood and perception, which is one of the main reasons I enjoy movies done in black and white.

yes..I have recently seen The good german...it takes after Casablanca very much and I quite enjoyed the film..the director used only manual cameras and mirrors and lights like they were known to do in 1930s and the effect is very interesting

Yes, I do. .... and Ingrid Bergman? :) Well, you are very lucky to have sky, so you can watch really a lot of "real" and artistic films. Unfortunately I don't have the subscription to Sky, and even if I had it I couldn't watch it because I'm a very busy person, but when my little son will grow up I'll make the subscription to Sky. I saw my last "black and white" films many years ago, I saw some of them when I attended the Dams in Bologna: I loved the films by Truffault very much.

I love old movies!!! My favorites at Audrey Hepburn and old Hitchcock films. We used to belong to Netflix because it seemed like the only place we could rent those old movies. May have to join again, just so we can get them again. :) We can't find those movies in any video store around here. :(

I love movies and there are some that are in black and white that are fantastic. There are some that aren't but others that are great and would be no matter if they were in black and white or in color. One of my favorite movies is Arsenic and Old Lace. It's a comedy staring Cary Grant and it's in fantastic. Cary Grant is very good in it. If you haven't seen it then I would recommend it. It will make you chuckle.
