For me it will always be the striker, they are the most glamourous and the ones who score the majority of the goals and therefore get the majority of the glory. Blessed be

I started with wanting to be an out field player in school and in the end, in order to be part of the team, I tried for the goalkeeper position and end up being a goalkeeper. Striker is a glamourour position but goalkeepper is also an important position.

Football is a team sport, choosing a Most Valuable Position is difficult for it is subjective. the game is not played by an individual. One man does not make a team. Football is all about team work, working for each other and not just for themselves. Team who does not have a team spirit and only count on the Individual Technique which they have will definitely lose the game. Look at England for example. Individually, they were world class players but when they play alongside each other, they became second class. talking about favorite position is another thing. for me, the favorite one is winger.

The wingers for me is the most important position in football It depends on the quality of the player , if a quality player like giggs and figo play down the wings they can break any teams defense Wingers , with their speed can cause a lot of worries to the opponents defense they can stop the opponents wingbacks to come forward and also make their defense crumble and good cross or so , and a poacher can always tap it in

Hi abhiiiiiiiiiii as i play on right full back so for me this is the most important position.............. Strikers r the more glamorous no doubt( for ex look at Ronaldo,Thierry Henry etc) but defending is the more pressure position as your one mistake can cause your team a goal.........................

I think the midfield is the most important place in football. It usually is either the strikers or the goalkeepers who take all the accolades, but it is the hardworking midfielders that make things happen. Of course, the midfielders can be in the defensive mode made famous by Makelele, where in they stop the opposition from playing their game. Or they can be in the attacking mould made famous by the likes of Zizou and Ronaldinho, where their creative energy make things happen. Then there are players who simply seem to be everywhere doing everything with the likes of Steven Gerrard and Ballack. So for me midfielders are the most important position in a football team. Cheers! Ram
