before you married? I think it's somehow important but it's not a big deal. I remember I asked my bf's family medical history during a casual conversation. He did mention it but now I forgot about it, lol. My family have a history of high blood pressure. I think most Filipinos are since the food the like to eat are too salty. Some people try to check on it especially if the family have a history of abnormality, craziness, etc. Do you think it's important? Why and why not???

If it is a condition that a lot of people in the family have, then yes, it could be important to know about it. Most families will have stroke, cancer, heart attack, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. somewhere in their family. But, if it is a serious genetic problem, it might make you want to consider adopting children instead of having children of your own.

It is very important to know the family medical record even before one goes into serious relationship talkless of getting married. However, correct fact may not be gotten by asking the partner. Special indirect investigation has to be carried out. Also, this where long courtship will help in getting the correct information.
