Have you always gotten along with your siblings? Have alike are you? What are the similaries and differences betweenyou? Do you think you've become better friends with them as you've gotten older?

I have two sisers and I have to say that we get more alike the older we get. I am the oldest and then there is two years between the " middle child" and then two years again. My younger sisters are really close and always have been. My middle sister and I became close when she turned 18. Since then there has always been a bond between all of us that time and distance (we all live quite far apart) can't break.

We get along well sometimes but most of the time, as we have grown older, there are certain issues that we can't seem to agree upon...and to think that mama's whip is no longer that effective with bickering siblings in middle age.

It's interesting to me how different two children from the same family can be. My brother was a rebel and I always worried about doing the right thing....

I have always gotten along with my siblings but unfortunatley they are all living in the city and I move out long ago to the country. I phone them occasionally but I rarely see them. I think when we have our own children and grandchildren we don't have as much time for siblings.

It's so hard to have the time for everything, isn't it? We spread ourselves so thin sometimes...

I have 5 brothers and 3 sisters but I did not grow up with all of them. I and one younger brother grew up in my aunts family. When in comes to traits, I and the brother that I grew up with has almost the same traits and these traits are the ones we learned from my aunts family. Although we grew up away from the rest of our other siblings, we are pretty much close and we become closer as we get older. We become more open with each other and great friends too.

I think my brother and I have gotten closer in adulthood, but we are still so far apart personality wise.

I have a half sister 14 years older than me.We are totally differtent in every way! When I was little she would take me with her everywhere, as I had gotten older we fought alot than when I became a teen we become best friends. But she is the type everything has to be her way or she gets pissed off. In april 2005 she got mad at me and stopped talking to me cause I went to visit my nephew (her son) and his wife and didn't stop in to see her. We didn't talk for about 4 years. I had given in and called her in april 2005 cause I wanted her to be part of my wedding. Though we talk now I don't feel like our relationship is the same.Though I do love her and I would do anything for her.

My brother and I were arch enemies as kids. He used to allow his friends to torment me, when he wasn't charging them a quarter to watch me go to the bathroom. We got very close after he left for college-- absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that. Over the years, our relationship has changed many times, but overall we're quite close. We're very different, and if he wasn't my brother I know I wouldn't be friends with him, but I love him just the same.

I sort of share your experience to a degree....my brother and I are not anything alike, but in a pinch, a serious pinch, we would be there for each other....deep inside.

I have a younger brother and an older sister.Sister a year older and brother 2 years younger. Never had a really good relationship with my brother. I think he resented always being my little brother, he never seemed to get his own identity. Things are getting a little better now , but we are very different so not sure we will ever have a close relationship. When my sister and I were teens we had a hard time getting along. When she got married and moved out our relationship started to improve. I consider her a great friend now as well as a wonderful sister.
